I have started to re-create my old mathsfilms website, please check out the animated videos here! https://t.co/8MrD7waFVX

More to come!
Latest edition of Mathematics Teaching is out now and open access: https://t.co/q8P1hsod4y
This is Tony Cotton’s last as editor - what an amazing job he has done. I have a piece on social justice and cognitive science. @ATMMathematics@SOEBristol@TLC_Bristol@FabAcademic
The findings from this paper were wonderfully presented @BSRLM_maths conference on Saturday. Worth a read whatever field you are in and thinking about the next REF (or not!) (but don’t tell @IOE_London@AlfColes@karen_skilling @MarkBoylanEd @rachelgmarks @beramathematics
A new paper about education research in the UK. @colinfoster77, @HugoLortie, @LizStokoe and I analysed the journal articles that were submitted to the REF education subpanel in 2021 and 2014, and tried to predict unit-level peer review outcomes.

While I agree it is hard to design good resources (and applaud what LUMEN have done), I am nervous of the "writing scripts" analogy - I know some schools giving teachers scripts along with resources - a move I see as a worrying de-professionalisation ...
@LboroDME’s LUMEN curriculum will hopefully be useful for new and more experienced maths teachers alike offering a free, editable starting point that teachers can then adapt to the needs of their learners, or prompting broader discussions around pedagogy.

There, in that place of being alive, we are digitally unreachable. I am not afraid of technology. I am more concerned that you and I will abdicate our humanity, and our creaturely dignity.

This is an important (and terrifying) story about the politicisation of research and the vilification and defamation of researchers because of what they research - I urge you to stand in support of Jo and her research ... @ATMMathematics@NCETM@SOEBristol
For those seeing all the drama, the misinformation, & the attempts to discredit me, this is my interpretation of the events: https://t.co/E9DJDegqJ8
The next BSRLM conference will be our Summer conference on the 7th and 8th June at Loughborough University. Please use this link to find out about registration and the call for session proposals. https://t.co/vfW47Bt4A2
@AlfColes @CuisenaireCo @ATMMathematics@NCETM@helenjwc Lovely! Particularly like clip 6 when they notice the rule for equivalent fractions arising from the structures they understand. Rule making as opposed to rule following
@helenjwc@PardoeMary@AlfColes @CuisenaireCo @ATMMathematics@NCETM It was through the NCETM, and Pete Griffin, that I originally became familiar with this set of videos. More here https://t.co/CxEiF1gKBZ
I have posted 5 animated videos for maths teaching here: https://t.co/CnRCiyEPst, these cover Trig, Pythag, mystic roses and one on projective geometry (a personal interest). These used to be on a mathsfilms website, now defunct. @WebbMaths@TFrancome@ATMMathematics@geometry4yl
