Very true, but we take the thief on the cross as the standard for our faith while we should be looking to Jesus. Why do we, so aggressively, want to do only whatโs bare minimum for God? Is this how we love Him?
I think about the thief on the cross a lot.
No baptism.
No church membership.
No years of faithful service.
Just a dying man who turned his head and believed.
And Jesus said today you will be with me in paradise.
That is the most scandalous grace in the entire Bible.
