India remains a colonized nation obsessed with DEI and socialism. It can never punch above its weight because there is zero incentive for the bureaucracy, political class and judiciary to contribute in nation building. Building a globally competitive nation - economically, strategically and militarily - requires delayed gratification, which is absent in a low trust society. Besides a few patriots, a vast majority of those in positions of power are merely interested in a) lining their pockets, b) escaping India - either living in it or abroad, and c) eliminating all competition.

The whole objective of the modern Indian state is to merely keep its head above the water. By doing so, the union stays together. This is a prerequisite for industrial scale corruption and arbitrage masked as business. Most things any government touches ends up either useless or subpar because the incentive to underperform and scam is much higher than to deliver and build. Thank the architects of the constitution for this glorious system.
