Tackling Module 4, of the programme with the "Leadership Voice & Strategic Visibility,"

The Special Adviser challenged senior women officers of the Nigeria Police Force to lead boldly, pursue excellence consistently, build resilience, and embrace the balance between professional responsibilities and family life as a source of strength.

Drawing from her own career in public service, she shared practical insights on leadership, strategic visibility, and effective communication, and encouraged participants to position themselves for greater impact within the Force.

The programme, which was organised by the Nigeria Police Force in partnership with the UNDP Rule of Law and Human Rights Team and supported by the Government of Germany, brought together Superintendents, Chief Superintendents, and Assistant Commissioners of Police from across the country.

Today, the Special Adviser to the President on Policy and Coordination, @hadizabalausman, was a panelist at the 2nd edition of National Economic Council Conference themed “Delivering Inclusive Growth and Sustainable Development: The Renewed Hope National Development Plan,” held at the State House Banquet Hall.

The conference convened the President, the Vice President, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, the 36 State Governors, and key national stakeholders to examine how Nigeria’s economic reforms can translate into tangible, inclusive outcomes across all levels of government.

In her contribution to the panel discussions, the Special Adviser spoke on the importance of effective fiscal coordination, particularly the central role of subnational governments in shaping growth outcomes. While recognising ongoing coordination within the federal system, she noted that the next critical phase lies in empowering states to take ownership of clearly defined economic pillars that directly drive growth within their local economies. She commended the National Economic Council for strengthening trust and responsibility at the subnational level, allowing states to align policy intent with on-the-ground execution.

She further highlighted the significance of FAAC allocations and the extent to which these resources are channelled into productive economic activity at the state level. Referencing discussions on agriculture, she emphasised the need to examine the full reinvestment cycle within the agri-value chain, particularly how farmers are able to reinvest proceeds from the sale of produce in subsequent production cycles. This, she noted, is central to addressing food prices sustainably and requires deliberate alignment between federal agricultural policies and subnational implementation strategies.

Today, the Central Results Delivery Coordination Unit, led by the Special Adviser to the President on Policy and Coordination @hadizabalausman, hosted the FGN Delivery Team to a comprehensive engagement session in Abuja. The gathering was designed to reflect on the outcome of the Q3, 2025 performance assessment and to receive practical feedback which will enhance the CRDCU’s processes, workflow, and overall coordination going into the next cycle.

The session brought together Director Planning, Research and Statistics, Delivery Managers, Desk Officers, Technical Aides, FCDO, and sector experts across various Ministries and Presidential Initiatives. Together, they examined performance data, discussed challenges encountered during implementation, and identified areas that require stronger collaboration to ensure the smooth delivery of the President’s key priorities under the Renewed Hope Agenda.

In her opening remarks, the Special Adviser reinforced the importance of the performance assessment as more than a routine administrative check. She noted that it serves as a vital accountability tool that ensures government policies translate into tangible improvements for Nigerians. She also stressed the need for timely and accurate submissions from MDAs, explaining that effective delivery depends on a system where every participant provides reliable inputs and plays their role with full commitment.

She encouraged all participants to engage openly, share genuine feedback, and treat the session as an opportunity to strengthen the collective delivery machinery of the administration. According to her, the CRDCU remains committed to coordinating and tracking progress in a manner that bridges the gap between policy intent and visible results across the country.

She acknowledged the dedication of the Directors, Planning, Research and Statistics of Ministries, Delivery Managers from the CRDCU, the FCDO, as well as the Desk Officers and the Ministerial Aides who have shown unwavering commitment throughout the assessment period. She expressed heartfelt appreciation, noting that their work, long hours, and steady contribution to the delivery ecosystem have not gone unnoticed. Commending their resilience, she urged them to sustain the momentum as the administration heads towards the end of the year.

The Special Adviser to the President on Policy and Coordination & Head, Central Results Delivery Coordination Unit, @hadizabalausman, today joined leading national stakeholders, statisticians, development partners, and data professionals at the 2025 African Statistics Day Celebration, held at the National Bureau of Statistics Headquarters in Abuja. With the theme "Leveraging Innovations in Data and Statistics to Promote a Just, Peaceful, Inclusive and Prosperous Society for Africans", the event provided a timely reflection on the vital role of credible data in shaping the continent’s future.

In her address, the Special Adviser echoed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s conviction that data is the compass without which governments would be flying blind. She reaffirmed the President’s commitment to embedding evidence based decision making at the core of the Renewed Hope Agenda, ensuring that policies, reforms, and investments align with the real needs and lived experiences of Nigerians. She noted that through the continued partnership between the CRDCU and NBS, Nigeria is steadily strengthening its statistical systems to enable more transparent governance, sound planning, and measurable outcomes.

She further explained how emerging innovations such as AI powered analytics, geospatial intelligence, mobile data tools, and real time dashboards are transforming the nation’s ability to detect vulnerabilities, anticipate risks, monitor development progress, and craft inclusive solutions. These technologies, she said, are becoming powerful instruments for justice, early warning mechanisms for peace, pathways to inclusion by ensuring every citizen counts, and drivers of prosperity through smarter economic and social modelling.

Bala Usman reminded participants that data is more than a tool, it is infrastructure for national development. She emphasised the need for increased investment in statistical capacity, stronger ethical safeguards for AI, and deeper collaboration across government, academia, and the private sector. She reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to building a Nigeria where data fuels progress, strengthens accountability, and delivers prosperity for all, leaving no one behind.

She concluded by commending the National Bureau of Statistics, under the leadership of Statistician-General Prince Adeyemi Adeniran, for its steadfast commitment to producing credible, timely data. She noted that the Bureau’s work remains central to Nigeria’s development journey and reaffirmed the administration’s support as the NBS continues to strengthen the nation’s data foundation.
