Today, I do not celebrate the death of a man. But I do welcome the possibility that the Iranian people may finally breathe a little easier.
Ali Khamenei was not merely a political figure. He was the symbol of a theocratic system that ruled in the name of heaven while closing the doors of earth to millions. A system that confiscated freedom of conscience, restricted women, crushed dissent, treated independent thought as an existential threat, and exported violence across the Middle East and beyond.
I will not fake my feelings. As a secular atheist who has been harmed by regimes that rule in the name of superstition, I cannot sympathize with the head of a system built on imposing belief by force. But my relief is not joy in death. It is hope for a people who have suffered for decades.
Still, we must not fall into illusion. The regime has not collapsed. Removing the head does not dismantle the body. The Revolutionary Guard remains. The constitutional structure that places religious authority above the will of the people remains. The theocratic current is embedded within state institutions and within parts of society.
The coming struggle is not military. It is a battle of consciousness.
It is a confrontation between two models:
One that claims legitimacy from divine mandate.
And one that derives legitimacy from the will of the people.
Democracy will not be delivered by airstrikes. Freedom does not emerge from political vacuum. What will determine the next chapter is whether Iranians themselves can redefine the state: will it remain a system of religious guardianship, or become a state of citizenship?
The greatest danger now is chaos. Power vacuums can empower hardliners, trigger internal conflict, or invite direct military control. Theocracies do not fade quietly. They fight to survive.
If there is real hope, it lies with Iran’s youth, with the women who broke the barrier of fear and protested compulsory veiling and patriarchal control, with the voices that demanded separation of religion and state despite prison and bullets.
This is not the end of a story. It is the beginning of a more dangerous chapter.
The real war is not between states.
It is within society itself: freedom versus theocracy.
And history reminds us that ideas, not missiles, ultimately decide the outcome.

@BarcaUniversal I love that we won. I love that we secured the top again... But our defense is still shaky... And this worries me... In the first half Oviedo got some chances... if our defense was that shaky in front of the bottom of the La Liga, then I wonder how far we can go in the UCL?
Here lies the core of the idea.
The absence of anything sacred does not mean
that nothing has value.
It means that nothing has value without justification and evidence that can be defended.
This single shift alone is enough to dismantle religion, ideology, and moral blackmail,
without destroying freedom, dignity, or the human sense of love and responsibility.

@EYakoby It didn't start 20 or 50 years ago, it all started more than 14 centuries ago, when a pedophile liar pretended to be a prophet and started to kill the infidels, the Jews, and any one against him. They just can't stop, it's written in their holy book, and in their hadiths.

@FCBarcelona Feeling worried. Hansi is not as his usual coolness and respectfulness. The team is unbalanced. We barely made it with Girona, I wonder what are we going to do in front of the giants. If you are not seeing this then we are in trouble.
"We are branded from the moment we draw our first breath. Before we can think, before we can speak, before we even realize the meaning of that light, that deafening noise that surrounds us, they start stamping us with everything, the call to prayer, the baptism, the shame, a lot of “no’s.” We are not born into a tabula rasa, but into an inheritance of servitude and submission, a story forged before we exist."
From my new book!
@OliLondonTV If they do this in front of Hamas, they would be killed for being 1- infidels 2- LGBTQ’s … both are to be killed in Islam… Do they know that?
