43 days of advocacy for seniors at the Boyd Manor senior housing facility in Algiers, and we’ve just learned that @HUDgov has failed to inspect the facility since 2016. This is highly alarming and unacceptable! #nola #algiers #elderabuse

The @splcenter and @SLLSHelps are actively working with us to finalize a legal response for the senior citizens at #BoydManor, so that each of them can know & understand their rights concerning the elder abuse & financial exploitation taking place by management - TALIAFARO Inc.

UPDATE:

After pointed conversations w/ @HUDgov, we are absolutely stunned at what we've discovered: HUD has failed to inspect the Boyd Manor senior housing facility in #Algiers since 2016.

Nearly 6 years of ZERO INSPECTIONS, for a facility receiving 70% of its funding from HUD.

The past several days of advocacy & organizing within our community have been such a beautiful display of unity & action! Volunteers, legal advocates, and medical professionals joined us for the #SaveOurElders day of organization & advocacy - which led to multiple investigations.
