That has been a bug for awhile. Sometimes its better to use file explorer to search in the root of C:/ directory
Windows Suck. I'm getting back on linux real soon
Another day of Windows Update which completely broke search for me. I still agree with your take on linux but at this rate year of linux desktop will be approaching sooner than anticipated.
I don't like coding in C.
Not because I dislike the language. I like it a lot. My ADHD just goes haywire whenever I code C, as it's easy to shoot ourselves in the foot, and that worry slows me down.
Started coding C again because I don't want to become like these vibe slopers.
By tonight or tomorrow morning, This code here will compile directly to native encoded bytes.
No IR,
No Pure ASM
No Transpilers
I do not have a name for the language yet but the ASM() block emits the code provided to be compiled to encoded bytes. I have plans to add rbyte {} (an raw byte block). These 2 macros or whatever you want to call it, takes no user INPUT. Functions follow ABI order, this mean you can use registers as params and since the language has function and not label, Functions params are set to registers before call.
We're almost there!
@lisyarus Make your own backend. Dm always open to talk about it!
I'm doing something similar! I can feel the stress but dont give up!
I'm writing my lang one step at a time. Its getting big and complex so far!
AI is evolving without anyone consent or permission, Expanding enough onto everything where there is no choice or say.
Trying to stay away from the AI stuff that is being used in OS(s) and any other software will trap you into a corner all alone looking for a modern OS with no AI slop
Like @waozixyz said which i highly agree. You will end up having to use an old version of just abt any of the OS you named before the AI slop were implemented
By saying this, I highly believe that, those that are capable, will be hobbying OS development, possibly even work on something to share that doesn't have AI slop
it's not about completely avoiding ai everywhere, that's simply not possible... but if i can avoid it, i will
i switched from windows, i'll switch from linux too
i purposefully avoid being trapped into one ecosystem
e.g., Github and VSCode was too much, and i now only use github!
