#FOSS4GNA CCRi's Jim Hughes and Cloudera's David Kaiser at their "Open-source Architecture of a Real-time Global Situational Awareness System with Cloudera and GeoMesa" talk yesterday.
#FOSS4GNA Come see CCRi's Jim Hughes speak on "Open-source Architecture of a Real-time Global Situational Awareness System with Cloudera and GeoMesa" at 10:30 AM PST in room E1.
GeoTrellis 2.2 released, #Spark 2.4.0 and #Scala 2.12 now supported, moved dependence to org.locationtech.proj4j in addition to smaller fixes and performance improvements.

@jonititan @underdarkGIS @dask_dev@ApacheSpark@postgis@PostgreSQL@CranfieldSAIC GeoMesa supports indexes on any attribute and they are composite with space time. However, often it is sufficient to use just a space time index and add additional predicates on attributes such as altitude which are processed inside the database.
Three new positions available on https://t.co/jOA07M8Gty in the last week: Computer Vision Engineer, Machine Learning Engineer, and Technical Recruiter.
@minus34 @underdarkGIS @MicheleTobias@apachekafka GeoMesa has the KafkaDataStore for real-time Geo data. Same read/write/query interface (geotools) as the historic stores (HBase, Accumulo, PostGIS). But its vanilla Kafka, not Kafka Streams - though that is being explored.
Do you enjoy working with statistical computing, machine learning, geospatial analytics, Scala, Python, Java, JavaScript (especially Angular), Hadoop, Spark, HBase, Accumulo, Storm, Kafka, AWS, GeoServer, or Docker? Then you might enjoy working at CCRi: https://t.co/oX53hrXFDG
@pwramsey Who has the time for all that drama? The GeoMesa team is constantly heads down trying to emulate the awesomeness that is PostGIS. OpenSource (and options!) FTW.
GeoMesa 2.1 is out! New features include support for Spark 2.3 and Kafka 2.0, new schema inferencing in the converter library, improvements to the FileSystem DatStore, and data partition management for Accumulo, Cassandra, and HBase users. https://t.co/x4aVonVOal
