Anyone that works in AI is working the hardest they've ever worked in their lives. On the surface it's somewhat ironic (AI should give us back time!), but the reality is that it's the most fun, fascinating and empowering epoch in human history. The intelligence revolution.
We spent our entire lives, and human history, under the assumption intelligence was a scarce resource. Now, everyone can summon an inexhaustible IQ machine like it's tap water. And incidentally, the change is so profound our own brains can barely comprehend it.
Under the directives of the President of the UAE, we launch a new government model. Within two years, 50% of government sectors, services, and operations will run on Agentic AI, making the UAE the first government globally to operate at this scale through autonomous systems.
AI is no longer a tool. It analyses, decides, executes, and improves in real time. It will become our executive partner to enhance services, accelerate decisions, and raise efficiency.
This transformation has a clear timeline. Two years. Performance across government will be measured by speed of adoption, quality of implementation, and mastery of AI in redesigning government work.
We are investing in our people. Every federal employee will be trained to master AI, building one of the world’s strongest capabilities in AI-driven government.
Implementation will be overseen by Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed, with a dedicated taskforce chaired by Mohammad Al Gergawi driving execution.
The world is changing. Technology is accelerating. Our principle remains constant. People come first. Our goal is a government that is faster, more responsive, and more impactful.
actually so true?
imagine the year is 2019 you just finished a “coding bootcamp” (it took 8 months)
you just got hired in a company
1 week onboarding
you get your first jira ticket (it is to add an oauth provider)
you just spend 6 hours on stack overflow & google cloud docs…..
Update on 𝚍𝚡𝚋𝟷. The situation has worsened and it’s progressed into a full blown, multi-AZ outage.
(Possibly first ever of its kind ever from a non-software root cause)
Many workloads on Vercel are global in nature. Routing Middleware for instance automatically deploys compute to every region.
In addition to rerouting traffic successfully to 𝚋𝚘𝚖𝟷, we’re also excluding Dubai from all Function and Routing Middleware creations. This has been completed for Node.js-based middleware, and our teams are working to extend this to edge runtimes. (If you’re seeing issues with your deployments, consider switching to our recommended Node.js runtime.)
As we face an uncertain global landscape, we will continue to reinforce our emergency failover measures, for even faster disaster recovery.
One thing I’ve noticed about people who say they “don’t code much anymore.”
Most of them have been doing this for YEARS.
They already understand systems.
They already understand databases.
They already understand how things break.
So when they use AI, they know exactly what to ask and what to fix.
The problem is beginners see this and think they can skip the fundamentals.
That’s where it goes wrong.
AI doesn’t replace understanding.
It amplifies it.
If you don’t know how things work, you won’t even know when the AI is wrong.
> freeze hiring
> start firing
> invest in AI infrastructure
> deploy "AI software engineers"
> wait 3 years

> AI introduced more technical debt than a fresh mathematics PhD
> software becomes more and more buggy
> slowly lose customers
> hire consultants to fix it
> consultants use AI to fix it
> still not fixed
> management blames consultants
> try to hire cheap juniors to fix it
> no more juniors left because training programs were stopped
> hire super rare and expensive seniors instead
> senior recommends resetting main branch to a commit 3 years ago
> AI infrastructure investments depreciated 90%

After getting fired from ungrateful AWS after outage where my job was to vibecode all the DNS entries to IPv6, happy to announce it's my 1st day at Azure
Azure recognizes the value of vibecoding IPv6 DNS and I just force pushed my first 1m entries
Now off to grab some coffee
Stages of programming:
1. I don’t know shit
2. I know some shit.
3. I am confident in the shit I know and know all the shit I need to know.
4. Shit, i don’t know shit.
