Syrian Muslims Living Under The Assad Regime
In every mosque, there was a government agent who monitored and reported on the subject of Jummah Khutbah and whether the Imam prayed for the President or not.
The government recorded the number of people attending prayers and specific record/file for those who attended Fajr (morning) prayers at the mosque.
The latest report was filed on 6/12/2024 which was two days before the downfall of dictator Bashar al-Assad.
These records have come to light after Syrian revolutionary forces raided prisons and intelligence agencies.

Don’t stay stuck in your past. Remember the lessons learnt, how you should have reacted on hindsight and don’t worry about the rest. Keep moving. That’s the only way to live.
There are Syrians on this platform desperately looking through the images of corpses emerging from Sednaya prison for relatives who disappeared years and decades ago.
Truly no words to describe the horror. God curse Bashar al-Assad.
The famous Syrian activist Mazen Hamada was alive the whole time in Sednaya prison - Assad’s men killed him right before they fled. No doubt they did not want him to testify to their barbaric crimes.
He lived the most hellish life on Earth. The photo of his corpse is something you can never unsee. They raped and tortured him for years. Maybe no man on planet earth lived a life of greater pain and suffering.
Assad and his men are demons and everybody who supports them are pure scum. There were tens of thousands who committed obscene crimes against humanity in Assad’s name and they all walk the face of the Earth today unpunished because tens of millions spread Russian propaganda and lies to defend them. The injustice of the world is too much…
The fall of Assad's dictatorship ends decades of brutal oppression. A new chapter for Syria can begin here — one free of terrorism and suffering for the Syrian people.
Canada is monitoring this transition closely. We urge order, stability, and respect for human rights.
A mass grave has been uncovered in Sednaya Prison, containing the corpses of prisoners that were dissolved in acid by Assad regime forces, leaving behind only skeletons.
As a Palestinian, I reject and reject and reject again that Palestine can only be liberated if a tyrant who imprisons women and children rules over Syria. I reject that our liberation will only come over a mountain of Syrian corpses.
Thousands of Syrians rushed to Sednaya, also called the Human Slaughterhouse, tonight to check on their loved ones amid reports that underground cells have not been opened yet. Families are hopeful.
This is 2 km from the entrance, people left their car and finished walking.
Syria was already worse than both of those cases. I swear some people think Syria has just been coasting along, with a mean president.
Hello? 600,000 dead? Largest refugee crisis since WWII? Those things mean anything to you?
A Syrian Christian declares his conversion to Islam after jubilantly helping to destroy a statue of Hafez al-Assad, Bashar's father and former dictator of Syria, in Deir Atiyeh on the outskirts of Damascus. The Muslim crowd welcomes him and celebrates with him.
A Syrian woman recently freed from Assad’s Sednaya Prison by the rebels shared her story:
“I was arrested at 19. I’m now 32. I have children, but I don’t even know who their fathers are.”
The images coming out Sednaya Prison should haunt us for ages to come, thousands trapped beneath layers of structures, never seeing the light of day.
Detainees held without charge in solitary confinement, left to rot. This is the "Human Slaughterhouse" of Syria.
I spare you the pictures from Saydnaya Prison:
People were but in underground holes and never got to see daylight
Children and even adolescents were born here - likely as a result of rape - and have never seen the outside world and can't talk
People were crushed in machines
