@Dain0x@rewind02 prettier than it plays is the default failure mode of AI-made stuff. never been easier to make something that screenshots well and dies at hour two.
@RyanSael procedural cities are cool but the wild part is pointing this at the past. feed it a real medieval map and let it run 300 years forward. sim history, not just geometry.
AI for code testing and data analysis is the boring win. Keeping it out of assets and characters is the right call. RE Engine stays human where it counts.
Capcom has clarified what it meant by the “AI-generation game engine.”
The company says RE Engine will use AI to speed development and improve efficiency, including tools, code testing, and data analysis.
Capcom does not plan to use generative AI for in-game assets or content, such as art, characters, or other game elements.
AI will work behind the scenes, not create the game itself.
@Pirat_Nation npc realism is the boring version. the fun version: a history game where the AI can't invent, only surface what's actually documented, and the gaps in the record become the puzzle you solve.
@rewind02@Dain0x the fun part is it makes taste the only moat left. weirdly good news for anyone who actually plays games instead of just shipping them.
@rewind02 everyone's automating the building part. nobody's automating the part where you decide which of the 5 ideas is actually good. that's the whole job now.
@BBallNowandThen he's only done it once, led the league at 10.2 apg in 2019-20. last season he was at 7.2 and he turns 42 in December. so probably not, but respect the optimism
@cheaf25master ai made the demo free. it didn't make "why is this broken at 3am" free. cs was never really about typing code, it's knowing what to do when the output is confidently wrong.
