It is now 3:16 AM.
I have been stranded at the airport for nearly 12 hours, exhausted and unable to sleep, after arriving early to avoid missing my connecting flight from Istanbul.
What makes this even more painful is seeing how Turkish Airlines — an airline that speaks proudly about loyalty and customer care — handled passengers after cancelling the flight.
No hotel.
No proper assistance.
No meaningful support.
Honestly, this feels like a nightmare rather than a real travel experience.
Dear European aviation authorities,
I am requesting urgent review of how @TurkishAirlines handled passengers after cancelling our flight from Dubrovnik.
The airline cancelled our original flight, left passengers waiting for hours at the airport, and failed to provide proper assistance or transparent communication regarding rebooking options.
What is most concerning is that there was another Turkish Airlines flight from Dubrovnik to Istanbul at 09:10 AM (TK438), clearly displayed on the airport departure board in the attached photo, yet we were not rebooked onto that flight.
Instead, passengers were left stranded for a much longer period without adequate support, accommodation clarity, or proper explanation.
This situation raises serious concerns regarding passenger rights under EU261 regulations, especially regarding:
Duty of care
Reasonable rerouting
Proper passenger handling after cancellation
Transparency in rebooking decisions
I kindly request investigation into this case and clarification regarding passenger rights enforcement in such situations.

Our original flight was cancelled and we were left waiting at the airport for hours without proper support.
I can clearly see that there is a Turkish Airlines flight to Istanbul at 09:10 AM (TK438) from Dubrovnik Airport today.
Why were we not rebooked on this flight instead of being forced to wait much longer?
We need a clear explanation regarding the rebooking decision and passenger handling.

Under EU261 passenger rights, rebooking us on the next flight is only part of your obligation.
Airlines also have a duty of care toward stranded passengers, including hotel accommodation, meals, transportation, and proper assistance during delays caused by cancellations.
So far, no support, hotel, compensation, or proper assistance has been provided after cancelling our flight and leaving us stranded at the airport.
We expect Turkish Airlines to fully comply with EU passenger rights regulations.

Very disappointed with how TK440 from Dubrovnik to Istanbul was handled today. First we were informed the flight was only delayed by 35 minutes, then suddenly it was completely cancelled and passengers were left stranded at the airport with no proper assistance.
No hotel, no accommodation, no clear guidance, no compensation, and no real support for passengers’ situation. You wasted our entire day and time with very poor communication and handling of the disruption.
This is not the level of service expected from a major international airline.
