@ArtfSurvival@Maawiah Indeed
Not only the geographical shift, but also the shift in species identities driven by global change will make conservation very difficult!

We modeled nearly 10,000 species to project their spread through 2100. The absolute increase in invasion area is moderate, but the spatial shift is substantial.

What an amazing bunch of #GloNAF colleagues & friends!!!😍
Great new scientific ideas ahead.
Lets move Global plant invasions research into the next phase
Surprisingly, our findings indicate a general decrease in climatic suitability for these potential invaders in our (sub)tropical study area, contrary to the trends observed in temperate regions.
🌍✨ Exciting News!
Our latest research paper, "Invasion risk of the currently cultivated alien flora in Southern Africa is predicted to decline under climate change," is now published in Ecography and available online! 🌱🔍 (https://t.co/iPXtOeFGdz)
In this study, we have used Species Distribution Models to assess the current and future invasion risks of alien plants across various biomes and 10 countries in southern Africa.
First day of our #BioInvasions Uni Vienna retreat. Great setting in a a re-furbished winery in the scenic Wachau region. Relaxing setting and great people. So, pure fun!
I have presented the talk on "The impacts of land use on alien species invasion in local assemblages worldwide". Welcome to have a chat.
@Bernd_le_ and I are organising a session on Biological invasion from impacts to solutions at @WorldBioForum. Welcome to submit abstracts
In colonizing other lands, European empires left lasting legacies on the global distribution of plants, according to a study published in @NatureEcoEvo. https://t.co/ojzl3z5Jzq
### New #sDiv@idiv Funding opportunities ###
➡️Early Career Synthesis working groups

RT welcome!
NEED help
Pls send me/pm or RT etc contacts of
➡️biodiversity related (incl social sciences) associations
➡️well connected individuals
➡️ Twitter accounts
➡️email lists etc
** w focus on research-wise underrepresented regions**
to distribute calls for project funding.
THX!
#sDiv@idiv will open in the next days a new call for #synthesis working groups & other project types.
Stay tuned (watch here or https://t.co/oAbPl9RrfC ) & pls help us then to distribute this call beyond Twitter too.
