The @dailycal reports on Wayne's conviction: "Judge Laura Passaglia ruled against the use of the necessity defense, which may have been used to argue that the defendant’s actions were necessary to prevent harm to animals. Rosenberg said Hsiung’s appeal will address this decision on the part of the judge and added that members of DxE will be gathering at his sentencing hearing.

'We hope to continue to pressure law enforcement to take action about criminal animal cruelty and stop prosecuting animal rescue,' Rosenberg said."
