We profiled extracellular vesicles in plasma and identified proteins associated with treatment outcomes in men with advanced prostate cancer treated with 177Lu-PSMA-617. This work would not have been possible without the mentorship and guidance of @EAntonarakis@DrJustinDrake
Congrats @aliarafaa and @DrJustinDrake for your elegant work on plasma extracellular vesicle (EV) proteomics in Pluvicto-treated prostate cancer patients. Blood-based detection of PSMA, B7-H3, STEAP1 and Trop2 will help precision therapeutics! @UMNCancer https://t.co/uROHYEQDno
Excited to share our prostate cancer proteomics work, initially presented at #ASCO25, is now featured on @VuMedi! Grateful for the chance to share how liquid biopsy biomarkers may help shape the future of personalized therapy. @UMNCancer@MPaT_PHCL_UMN

Congratulations @aliarafaa on developing the first prognostic blood-based PROTEOMIC biomarker for 177Lu-PSMA-617 efficacy, presented at ASCO β25. @UMNCancer@UMNews https://t.co/BGfOBGkynF
@EAntonarakis@DrJustinDrake Incredibly grateful for your mentorship throughout this journey. Huge thanks as well to Dr. Justin Hwang. Building this proteomic assay took a tremendous amount of work, but Iβm proud of what weβve accomplished together. #ASCO25
Congratulations @aliarafaa on developing the first prognostic blood-based PROTEOMIC biomarker for 177Lu-PSMA-617 efficacy, presented at ASCO β25. @UMNCancer@UMNews https://t.co/BGfOBGkynF
ATM mutated tumors lack TP53 mutations, while gBRCA1-mutated tumors were enriched for TP53, suggesting synthetic essentiality. ATM-dependent cancers rely on intact TP53, opening new therapeutic vulnerabilities. Disrupting TP53 or inhibiting ATM could unlock targeted treatments!π
Largest study of BRCA-associated cancers (24,309) shows that somatic tumor landscape is influenced by germline HRR muts: gBRCA1-altered cancers are enriched in somatic TP53 muts; gATM-altered cancers are depleted in TP53 mut. Congrats @aliarafaa@umncancer https://t.co/rbiXC1tTfO
I am really grateful for my mentors, @EAntonarakis@DrJustinDrake for their support and guidance! A huge thank you to the American Cancer Society @ACS_Research for funding my fellowship! 2025 and 2026 will be great for blood based proteomics!
Congrats @aliarafaa for developing a new method for robust plasma exosome proteomics capable of detecting and quantifying >5000 proteins incl. PSMA, B7H3, TROP2 and STEAP1. A new blood-based biomarker is born! @UMNews https://t.co/4EOl1APPen
Our multi-omics study highlights the unique biology of AMPC, a potential precursor to NEPC, with implications for early therapeutic targeting. FOXA1 and OTX2 may play crucial roles! @DrJustinDrake@EAntonarakis@MPaT_PHCL_UMN@UMNCancer
Amphicrine prostate cancer may be a transitional state between prostate adenoCa and small cell/NEPC. Upregulation of FOXA1 and OTX2 may play a role. Congrats to Megan Ludwig for this deep multi-omic analysis. @UMNCancer@umn_dom@DrJustinDrake@aliarafaa https://t.co/Ix58SW3moU
Congratulations to new @AmericanCancer postdoctoral fellow, @aliarafaa. His project addresses an important clinical problem - identifying biomarkers of response to Pluvicto among men receiving treatment for castration resistant metastatic prostate cancer. Thank you and good luck!
Congrats @aliarafaa for delivering your first Oral ASCO Abstract. Your impactful study shows that germline mutations clearly influence somatic mutation landscapes in BRCA-associated cancers. https://t.co/PWOR2Dwr3L
Stoked for our ASCO poster showing NK cell infiltration and survival benefit across numerous solid tumors. NK cells are coming for you prostate cancer!
Abstr 10509: Largest study examining the somatic genomic landscape of tumors developing in germline HRR mutation carriers versus sporadic cancers. Congrats @aliarafaa for your first ASCO Oral presentation. Thanks to @TempusLabs for this rich data set. https://t.co/P8PXgkL4MU
Humbled to be featured in the March/April edition of Prostatepedia @NASPCC1. I had the opportunity to discuss the impact of the PSMA PET scan on clinical decision-making, current clinical trials, biomarkers, and targeted therapies.
