@jaesonv@8rareddy@leslibless To me, it seems 40 years too late to keep rape from being assimilated into our culture. Honor killings have not yet become ingrained in America, but they still happen
Aliasamendment2
The only groups who don't buy guns are manufacturers. They sell guns they have made, never expecting to KEEP those weapons. The government should be able to place restrictions on SELLING firearms, because that is NOT prohibited by the constitution.
Aliasamendment2
Every person who sells a gun is violating the second amendment, because if you sell a gun, you cannot KEEP it or use it for defense (BEAR it).
I know that some prices are still too high for too many.
I am doing everything in my power to lower costs – from energy bills and medicine to addressing hidden junk fees companies use to rip you off.
I won’t stop fighting for American workers and American families.
@mraphone777 @xTreeOfLife @simonateba@RudyGiuliani At least if Rudy, the Donald, et. al. declare bankrtuptcy, there is a chance of jail time for bankruptcy fraud.
@robinmonotti In this context, a factor of 100 would usually mean 10¹⁰⁰. Clouds are not a googol times as powerful as COO at warming the Earth. If you are saying that COO has 1% of the effect on warming Earth that clouds have, then we currently have no way to reduce global warming.
@robinmonotti If clouds are so randomly & variably distributed, how does each year since the 2013 King study compare with each year since then? Can we go back to1900? Forward to 2100? If we need to wait until each year ends to know whether the world is warmer, does it make a differe7nce
@ShanRussell72@DogginTrump Puts me in mind of judges who say "we have to let addicts reach rock bottom before we can help them." If we confiscated every car involved in a dui instead of suspending drivers' licenses, rock bottom would come sooner. Most folks get 1 dui for 20+ violations.
@pashmory@stats_feed@EvanInTech 2...secret advantage by letting the computer pick their numbers. I always pointed out that 70% of tickets sold were computer picks, & only 30% picked their own favorite numbers...2
@pashmory@stats_feed@EvanInTech The powerball lottery press releases used to tout the statistic that 70% of powerball winners let the computer pick their numbers, even though you could pick the numbers you wanted to play based on birthdays, telephone numbers, etc. Thousands of people thought they had a...1
@jordanlwalker@ChrisJBakke 1000 foot view = looking out over the precipice.
OR group photo of House & Senate (1070 feet, but not every
politician can get both feet in mouth).
"Bridge the gap" is the definitive book on space elevators, coming out in May, 2040.
@TexasLindsay_ If you can make any Senator, Congressman, or other politician to believe that (preferred pronoun he/she/it) owes allegiance to the United States, you are a better man than I am.
@MichaelEMann If anyone were 95% confident in 2004 that warming would be between 0.5 and 2.1 degrees F, I wouldn't call that very good modeling. If anyone predicted in 2004 that preliminary results at the end of 2023 would be between 1.1 and 1.4 degrees F, the vertical green bar, I would lol.
@SawyerMerritt@elonmusk Thanks for the memories. I recently got socked in the googol plexus & all my math came back to me. I know I was an Apollo 13 stowaway kicked off on backside of Luna landed on my head no injuries was captured taken to Mars by merry Mercurians. Mars deported me. Illegal alien.
@SawyerMerritt@elonmusk There is a prototype of a device that uses sound waves/vibrations to extinguish/suppress fires. Might be some way to mount them in seat backs, use for speakers as a dual purpose device to extinguish fires in the back 1/2 of car. Could activate on airbag deployment or manually.
