It lands quietly. Then all at once.

Mohamed Salah will leave at the end of the season. Not sold. Not eased out. Going on a free, a year still sitting on his contract, value left on the table.

We knew, of course, we knew. The tension had been there. The words that didn't quite fit. The distance between player and manager that no result could hide. His fallout with Arne Slot in December felt like a warning. Not the shock. The confirmation.

But the timing. That's what jars.

No buildup. No slow acceptance. Just a sudden line drawn, on a random Tuesday night, through an era that shaped lives.

He gave us moments that felt inevitable and impossible at the same time. The cut inside. The finish. The roar that followed. For years, that was certainty. That was our comfort.

There will be numbers attached to him forever. Goals, medals, records. They tell you he was great. They don't tell you what it felt like to watch him.

He gave people joy when they needed it. He gave them something to hold on to.

🚨☪️ 𝗢𝗙𝗙𝗜𝗖𝗜𝗔𝗟: The Premier League and English Football League will once again implement Ramadan protocols, allowing matches to pause briefly so Muslim players can break their fast.

Ramadan begins this week and lasts for a month, during which Muslims refrain from eating and drinking from dawn until sunset.

Clubs and match officials will agree in advance whether a stoppage is needed and roughly when it will take place. Any pause will be solely for breaking the fast and will not be treated as a drinks break or a tactical timeout.

But we wait for that moment to come on, to make an impact, to show the coach why we deserve to start,That’s the reality for most of us.
But Mo Salah isn’t “most of us.”
Mo is in a different category like Cristiano and Messi.
Players like that don’t get benched And if, for any reason, they start on the bench, you must make sure they’re the first to come on , 60 minutes, 65 minutes maximum… not “not even coming in.” That’s just disrespectful to everything he’s done for the club.

Mohamed Salah can’t be replaced in the algorithm. There is no younger version of him. He is HIM.

What he has done and continues to do can’t be filtered down to a shot map, goal contributions or such. His availability, his appetite to better and challenge himself, his physical conditioning and mental fortitude… What would all of that cost in the market?

This is not sentiment, it’s reality. Liverpool rely on Salah, he is their banker, he remains the reference point…

Liverpool have to be financially savvy, consider future squad planning and the age profile of the team, but if you’re going to bet on anyone, bet on the man who has done it over and over and over again. Who prides himself on making extraordinary the norm.

PSA: No offer doesn’t mean no negotiations. A formal offer is only generally made when terms have been agreed. Salah wants to stay, Liverpool want to keep him, and there’s some compromising to do from both sides.
