Here is why I think Tinubu’s Ministerial Nominees are balanced:
He dedicated Infrastructure and Finance to the South.
He dedicated Agriculture and Security to the North.
Soft infrastructure like health and education to the North.
Humanitarian and Innovation to the South.
Productivity and Job creation to the North.
The North needs more security and agricultural productivity to grow and industrialize while the South is good with services and infrastructure.
I’m confident that we are good to go!
ECOWAS has militarily intervened in:
1. Liberia in 1990
2. Sierra Leone in 1997
3. Guinea Bissau in 1999
4. Côte d’Ivoire in 2003
5. Liberia in 2003
6. Mali in 2013
7. The Gambia in 2017
All the interventions were successful, and democracy restored.
Niger 🇳🇪 won’t be different!
Democracy in Niger is important.
ECOWAS focuses on diplomacy in Niger, Sultan of Sokoto's presence matters! #DiplomacyFirst #UnityForStability
President Tinubu has demonstrated an impressive level of assertiveness so far. He put an end to the DSS vs EFCC street fight with just one command. He persuaded the NLC and TUC to suspend their planned strike. He convinced striking health workers to resume work. He got oil marketers to align with his post-subsidy plan. He invited the willing opposition to the table. And now, the mastermind behind Nigeria's serially disastrous monetary experiments is on the ropes.
The story would have been different before May 29 because the DSS and EFCC would have been allowed to descend into a brawl, the organized labour would have been allowed to do their worst, oil marketers would have been mocked and criticized in poorly-drafted press statements, and Meffy would have been given a second medal for his supposed genius interventions that fixed nothing.
I pray that this trend continues. Overall, this is a good start!
