Stopped studying Japanese. What a shame. The main reason is the writing system is incredibly hard, I don't think I'll ever be able to get to A2 in Kanji. I might come back to it later, dont know. I am feeling very defeated at the moment.
Started my japanese language journey last week. Studied 15 kanji characters and 10 hiragana. They advise I finish hiragana and katakana before I start kanji, but I find kanji so interesting and can't help.

Hiragana, Katakana & 47 kanjis- completed. I studied "to be" positive, negative & question (polite & casual) forms. Japanese writing & reading is a huge hurdle for me to overcome. But I'll go bit by bit. Surely I'll be fine. My goal is A2 in two years.
Did you know that there is this "silent period" in language learning? It can last up to a year. Generalizing how long it will last is nearly impossible because it depends on many individual variables. So it is normal not to produce anything in L2 for a while.

@studywithmiejie I never use flashcards or lists. I create vocabulary chunks. For example, I put all the words related to fruit on one page and all the verbs and adjectives next page, and test myself nonstop (i.e spelling, meaning etc). I learn the vocabulary in context. And I create sentences.
