When is a chair not just a chair? For at least the past twenty years, my father-in-law Bob Bruce sat in this chair when our family opened our Christmas presents. We lost him to cancer this year, and so for the first time I sat in the big chair. It felt very weird for the first few minutes but by the time we finished everyone was used to the new arrangement. I guess we humans need to establish a kind of order and will always find a new equilibrium after a loss. 🙏
