for a year or so, i've been eager to see @GroovyBruce 's new film, "ernie & emma". i brought last month's efforts, this risograph poster, from PHL to DTW for the premiere as a gift for him. it's one of my fav works i've done, and is now attached to one of my new fav memories ❤️
i have always been very inspired by 1960s valentines, and wanted to evoke a "memory glow" feeling to match the bittersweet and loving nature of the story. i also hand-cut some individual valentines. here are a few close-ups. check out the film if bruce brings it to your state!
@GroovyBruce thank you for my beautiful $5 bill bruce, i had one of the best nights of my life and i will NOT be choosing to raise the bar on my greatest inspiration ... i'm happy where it's at! the movie was positively wonderful, i will be seeing it many more times, you can count on it ❤️

last month, atticus turned TEN years old. i really do hope that someday, i can make something of these two. there is endless material living inside me, and it's my greatest wish. for now, take some artwork that looks a bit like a band photoshoot
haven't gotten to draw them in awhile, but my characters are always on my mind. the bespectacled fellow is atticus, a chemist of ever-changing moods and surroundings. the other guy is mac, an everyman doing his best to roll with the punches. they're intertwined in a time loop
