TO BE FREE IS TO FIGHT - HYPERCUT

As my second year at my fashion course nears its end, I thought I should share a hypercut of work created from Sep 2024 to Nov 2024, this collection came to me as a reaction-

-Fighting against the brutal architecture, and turning it into a tool of unification once the summit was reached. By imagining the equipment the rebels would need for this, the concept came to me.

LOOK 2 - Infiltrator

For this project I really tried to immerse myself within the world I had created. I imagined rebels, rappelling themselves up an abandoned radio tower, long left to rot, to serve no purpose, as it was deemed no longer profitable by its owner.-

-There is a constant green line from the centreback mimicking that of a spine, as if the oppressed who were once considered "dead" had risen back up to fight back.

LOOK 1 - Scavenger

This look was particularly inspired by the concept of the rebels scavenging materials from the clash with the oppressors, and grabbing materials to adorn their clothing, both for tactical reasons but also as means to show their fearlessness.-

-to the conflicts in Ukraine and Palestine, and imagined the courageous rebels crashing against the oppressors. These ideas also crossed with many personal interests such as pirate radios, which my parents had originally met in, and general ideas of counter-culture.
