Do not lower yourself seeking respect from those who have no respect for you. Do not exhaust your heart pursuing the affection of those who bring no good into your life. And do not allow praise from people who barely know you to determine your worth.

True dignity is knowing where your humility belongs, where your affection is deserved, and whose praise is actually worth receiving.
