NEW: 🇸🇪 Sweden's Security Service (Säpo) says it has stopped a Russian intelligence operation in Stockholm involving the SVR, Russia's foreign intelligence service.
According to Säpo, two Russian intelligence officers recruited an agent working at another country's embassy in Sweden and maintained contact through meetings at restaurants and during walks around Stockholm.
Säpo says it was able to follow and map the operation for a long period, including monitoring meetings between the Russian officers and the recruited agent. Investigators say they observed not only the meetings, but also gifts being handed over to the agent.
The objective was to obtain information concerning central Swedish decision-making and use the recruited intermediary to potentially influence Swedish politics, particularly on polarizing issues.
Säpo says it has a detailed picture of the assignments given to the agent and the questions the agent subsequently asked.
According to deputy operations chief Christoffer Wedelin, these activities were identified and ultimately interrupted by Säpo. He said the agency is making the case public because it provides a concrete example of what the Russian intelligence threat looks like in Sweden today.
The three individuals cannot be arrested or prosecuted because they were operating under diplomatic immunity. All three have now left Sweden.
Swedish Justice Minister Gunnar Strömmer said the government considers the incident serious and described it as part of a broader pattern of Russia working strategically and over the long term to advance its interests in Sweden.
On this day in 2014, near 🇺🇦 Luhansk, a married couple - Olena Kulish and Volodymyr Alyokhin - were executed mafia-style. Olena was a radio host & animal rights activist. Volodymyr was a programmer.
They were “accused” of supplying Ukrainian soldiers with food.
Russians (or Russia-paid “separatists”) broke in, killed them, looted everything of value, and turned the house into their “headquarters.”
They also killed Olena’s six dogs, just for the fun of it.
Olena and Volodymyr. Remember them!
From “we can’t give them F-16, it’s a too sophisticated tech” to “we can’t give them a license because they would be able to improve our most sophisticated tech and make it more affordable” in just 3 years.
Incredible. It’s almost like it was just a sheer chauvinism and utter stupidity all along.
According to a report by The Atlantic, citing a Republican official in Congress, one of the primary holds-ups in the Trump Administration’s decision to license the production of air defense launchers and missiles to Ukraine, particularly the PATRIOT Surface-to-Air Missile System, has been the system’s designers Raytheon and Lockheed.
The official states that the two defense contractors “will officially frame their concerns around IP theft and tech transfer,” but “their real worry is that the Ukrainians will find a way to improve the PATRIOT and then produce them at scale faster and for much less money than what the existing production lines in the U.S. could do,” threatening manufacturers in the United States.
As russia continues to attack Ukrainian cities, destroy civilian infrastructure, and kill people, these young children are forced to adapt to war and survive.
This is not what childhood should look like. And this is not how children should have to learn courage.

There was a rainbow over Kyiv yesterday.
Just wanted to share this beautiful view with you, friends.
May it be a good sign.

Tak Putin podpala Polskę. Sprawdziłem, jak rosyjskie fejknewsy budują niechęć do Ukraińców
Te historie łączy jedno: zanim zaczęły krążyć w polskim internecie, rozpowszechniały je rosyjskie i prorosyjskie kanały.

The Russian genocide is allowed to continue. Odesa is burning this morning.
In just two hours, the region was reportedly attacked by more than 70 Shahed-type drones and around 20 ballistic and cruise missiles.
Perhaps Ukraine’s partners should start asking a rather important question: where is Russia getting its additional ballistic missiles from?
Fires are burning in central Odesa.
At least six people are reported injured so far.
Another massive Russian attack on a Ukrainian city.
Mrs Halyna Kucher, principal of a Kyiv school, was killed by Russia today.
Her husband and three-year-old grandson were killed today, too.
Mrs Halyna underwent cancer treatments for many years.
Deepest condolences...

North Korean ballistic missiles are being used against Kyiv. North Korean regulars are reportedly training in Russia.
And once again, the world seems determined to look the other way and ignore it.
This was 39-year-old Vita Horkavenko.
Yesterday, russia killed her in a missile strike on the Kvitneve railway station in Kyiv region. Eight people were murdered.
Vita was a loving mother of two children: Anastasiia, 17, and Oleksandr, 13.
On August 9, she was supposed to celebrate her 40th birthday.
Instead, her children will bury their mother.
This is what russia brings to Ukrainian families: stolen lives, shattered childhoods, and grief that never ends.
💔 She was only 13.
For 45 days, Oleksandra Makukha fought for her life after a russian drone struck her family's home in Ukraine's Sumy region on June 22.
Her mother pulled her from the rubble with burns covering 40% of her body. Doctors fought to save her, but yesterday her heart stopped.
The same russian strike killed her 73-year-old grandmother, her 36-year-old stepfather, and her 12-year-old stepbrother.
One drone.
One family.
Four lives erased.
This is what russia calls "liberation."
This is terrorism.
This is genocide.
Never let the world look away.
⚡️ Russian drone strike kills Ukrainian farmer.
On August 3, 49-year-old farmer Vadym was killed when a Russian drone struck his combine harvester near Volodymyrivka in the Dnipro region.
