@DavidBurgess73 Great thread @DavidBurgess73. ANPR (as per school streets) seems like a sensible compromise.
Still very concerned about the effect on the LCR schools, though... inc. Livity, where almost every student needs to travel by car or minibus.
Wonder whether schools were consulted?
Is Meta running out of ways to legally use our data to target ads? Today's opinion from an advocate general at the European Court of Justice certainly suggests that could be the case. 🧵
@StefAlterNerd @TwitterSupport If UK GDPR does apply, the Privacy Notice should include specific info (such as listing citizens rights - e.g. erasure) and accurately explain how personal data is collected and used. Anyone who believes data has been used illegally can complain to the ICO https://t.co/v1o6OILOV0
@StefAlterNerd @TwitterSupport Really interesting question! Whether the UK GDPR applies depends on whether botsentinel is deemed to be "offering" the service to citizens in the UK - but "offering" is interpreted more like targeting, rather than the service just being available to UK citizens
@lawheroez And different parts are constantly moving throughout the process as the humans involved react emotionally or new information comes to light. Humans are interesting and unpredictable 😆
@grahamcox82 It's discussed at some length in this fun paper: https://t.co/DAcf08WGts TL;DR - it's difficult for blockchains to be GDPR compliant. But GDPR isn't really compatible with quite a lot of other modern tech either... 🤷♀️
@grahamcox82 GDPR isn't specific as to type of need, but whether data is necessary "in relation to the purposes for which they were collected or...processed". I expect Ethereum could find persuasive arguments to avoid the requirement to delete if they wanted to. Be interesting to find out :)
@GeorgeBlackman_ This is probably fine. Strictly speaking you should have a Privacy Notice that explains what you might use their info for + you should give them an "opt-out" to marketing when they download. But the chance of a complaint about asking for their permission is v low...
@SocStreatham@JaneCLees@StLeonardsSW16@heartstreatham@balhamnewsie From the angle of St Leonard's Church that house looks as if it's approximately where the White Lion is now-is that right? If so, the people in the foreground are sitting somewhere around what's now the highest part of Sunnyhill Road (I guess that's Leigham Lane on the 1823 map?)
Worth noting. In 1963 John Profumo resigned as an MP for lying to the House, he committed no other offence but he was so ashamed at this he spent the remainder of his life rebuilding his personal reputation by working with the poor.
What he resigned for, Johnson does every day.
@blondiiilocks No right answer to this conundrum! Do feels right, and be prepared to change tack as your baby gets older. I considered not going back to my former job (as a lawyer) but by the time my baby was 1 (and I'd sorted good childcare) I was happy to work and get some of my old self back
Keep an eye on what is now being under reported
• Bankers profits quadrupled
• Bankers’ bonuses up 44%
• British Gas profits up 44%
• £5bn of NHS cuts
• Starting to charge for lateral flows
Austerity is back. So is rampant profiteering by the rich.
@fesshole I still have a t-shirt my brother bought me for no particular reason when we were both in our early 20s - I loved it and was so touched by the gift. I'm now 45. The t-shirt is way too tight to be decent, but it's still in my drawer ❤️
