We discussed developments in the Gulf and the wider Middle East, the role of diplomacy in fostering stability amid uncertainty, and prospects for enhanced cooperation across connectivity, trade, investment, energy, and strategic affairs. The conversation also explored Italy’s Mattei Plan for Africa, reflecting a growing recognition that sustainable prosperity and regional stability are best advanced through partnership, long-term investment, and shared interests.

بقيادة أخي الشيخ محمد بن زايد توا��ل دولة الإمارات ترسيخ مكانتها بين أكثر دول العالم تنافسية .. ووفق أحدث تقرير للتنافسية العالمية 2026 حلّت الإمارات في المركز الخامس عالمياً وحافظت على ريادتها الإقليمية للعام العاشر على التوالي . . جاءت الأولى عالمياً في الأداء الاقتصادي ، وتصدرت 21 مؤشراً تنافسياً دولياً منها غياب البيروقراطية وقدرة سياسات الحكومة على التكيف، وضمن الخمسة الأوائل عالمياً في 67 مؤشراً.

هذه النتائج ثمرة نهج وطني، وكفاءة مؤسسات وجهود فرق عمل في مختلف القطاعات . . تنافسيتنا ليست هدفاً مرحلياً، بل عمل مستمر يعزز جودة الحياة، ويرسخ الثقة العالمية بدولتنا، ويؤكد أن الإمارات ماضية ��ثبات نحو مستقبل أكثر ازدهاراً وريادة.

Rome hosted a rich exchange among Emirati and Italian think tanks and policy experts, co-organised by @AGDAUAE and @IAIonline, at a time when geopolitical tensions test both institutions and assumptions.

Beyond managing immediate crises, we explored how connectivity, economic corridors such as IMEC, and practical cooperation can mitigate fragmentation and strengthen resilience. The role of middle powers is not to amplify polarisation, but to build bridges, widen the space for dialogue, and safeguard shared prosperity.

The UAE–Italy partnership stands as a testament to this approach: anchored in trust, guided by pragmatism, and increasingly relevant to a changing international order.
