@joanbushur @elsongs I wouldn't waste your time Mary, its clear they have no understanding of publishing/rights/royalties etc. It would be funny someone SAMPLE a 2 bar loop of one of their songs and didnt give them royalties, as it doesn't matter about such a small piece of music stolen 🤦‍♂️🤷‍♂️

In this case the original artist has a case of 100% of the publishing as original samples make the melody for the new song, without it you wouldn't have One More Time !

If you SAMPLE a part of ANY other RECORD then you pay publishing on it. How much is agreed between both parties

None of them are deliberately used, but the subconscious mind draws on heard melodies, and there are only some many you can play in a pop song. Look at Status Quo ;)
