@Inanna_ed I have little difficulty with smaller organizations (a magazine forgot to mail a cheque, but were quick to send it), but have delays with universities and larger organizations. Maybe because it's a more complicated process to issue payments. Hard to even locate a contact person.
Despite having written and edited a few collections of poetry, I am stumped by the craft and nuanced tone (a combo of concern, respect and curiosity) required to write follow-up emails about where in the ether are my outstanding payments for writing gigs.
