@AutisticCoach_ Purity Ring! I have trouble hearing/registering lyrics, so I tend to focus more on the melody/sounds of words. Their lyrics are somewhat nonsensical to me, but the sounds their music makes light up my brain like a Christmas tree
@AmberlynWhite My school would let you stay in and finish homework if you hadn't done it all, so I'd always leave a little or pretend I hadn't done it so I could stay inside and read
Me, an autistic person: I have no idea what's happening in this situation, so I'm just going to laugh, that seems like a good idea.
Narrator: It was not, in fact, a good idea.
@stanzipotenza I take Adderall for narcolepsy. Ritalin gave me anxiety, a high heart rate, and the crash was horrendous. Adderall clears my brain fog and lets me actually focus on Things™️. The first time I took Adderall, I info dumped to my mom about birds for 10 minutes.

Let's talk about social anxiety disorder.
So many people not at ease with people, need to drink in order to socialize, or fears what people are thinking of them.
HERE'S WHY... (A THREAD 🧵):
Not being happy with your looks isn’t the same as literally loathing your entire being & wanting to cut parts of yourself off with kitchen scissors. So maybe just let people talk about their issues without self centering & trying to be relatable because you’re a dick if you do
Why do people feel the need to say “everyone’s experienced that” when someone’s talking about something they’ve struggle with? It doesn’t feel relatable, it feels dismissive and reductive af. Not to mention it’s a fucking lie
I told someone that I had severe body dysmorphia & disordered eating from middle school through college. They said everyone’s got things they dislike about their body, which is true, BUT
