Fresh out of college. No real experience. Sweet girl. I liked her. I spent two weeks training her on everything I built from scratch — all my templates, my contacts, my system.
On Friday, she asked me to help her with the printer. Her laptop was open. Her email was open. Her offer letter was right there at the top of her inbox.
$58,000. Same exact title as me. Plus hybrid.
I was at $44k after 3 years. Five days in office. No bonus.
I just stood there looking at her screen while she kept apologizing about the printer.
I fixed it, went back to my desk, and didn't say a word for the rest of the day.
I cried in my car on my lunch break.
That weekend I updated my resume for the first time in 3 years. Applied to 5 jobs.
Three weeks later I got an offer for $68k fully remote. Real benefits. Real PTO.
When I put in my two weeks, my boss was shocked. He said, "I wish you had told us you wanted more money. We would have matched it."
That's when it hit me.
They always knew what I was worth. They were just praying I'd never find out.
I got goosebumps all over 😭 I was about to sleep, then I saw ants and SO many of their eggs coming out from under my bed. How did there end up being this many? Did they seriously dig through the ground and bring all their eggs out? Does anyone know how to get rid of them? Please share some tips!
I never allow my wife drive my expensive cars.
Friends thought it was pride.
Neighbors thought it was control.
She never argued in public.
She only looked at the keys, then at me, and let the moment pass.
I had three of them.
A black one for evenings.
A silver one for weekends.
A quiet green one I rarely took out of the garage.
All of them too shining for the life we actually lived.
The truth was not the cars.
The truth was a rain slick road seven years before I met her.
Her sister had been driving a car like the green one.
A gift from a man who liked beautiful things more than careful ones…

Sara’s husband has been abroad for over 5 years now.
Her husband sent his little brother over to stay at their home and help take care of the house. One thing led to another and she’s 4 months pregnant for her husband’s brother now.
Her husband is coming back home soon and she doesn’t know what to do.
My friend told me he was scared to ask for a raise.
For almost two years, he kept telling himself he should just be grateful to have a job.
Then one afternoon, he was helping HR prepare paperwork for a new employee joining his department.
He accidentally saw the salary on the offer letter.
$6,500 a month.
He stared at it.
His salary?
$5,000.
Same department.
Almost the same responsibilities.
And the crazy part?
My friend was supposed to train the new employee.
He thought there had to be a mistake.
He checked the paperwork again.
There wasn’t…
She thought her boyfriend was cheating because of one notification.
At 1:17 a.m., his phone lit up beside her.
She wasn’t trying to check it.
But then she saw the message:
“I miss what we had. Can we talk?”
Her stomach dropped.
She looked at him.
He was asleep.
For the next few minutes, she just stared at the screen, wondering who “we” was.
The next morning, she finally asked him.
He went completely quiet.
Then he said something she wasn’t expecting:
“It’s my ex.”
She felt betrayed. Not because they had spoken, but because he had never mentioned that she was back in his life.
Then he showed her the rest of the conversation.
His ex had been trying to get him back for weeks.
He had ignored every message.
The notification she’d seen was actually the first time he’d responded—and his response simply said:
“Please respect my relationship. I’m happy where I am.”
She felt terrible for doubting him.
But he looked at her and said:
“I’m not angry that you were scared. I’m angry that I made you feel like you couldn’t trust me.”
Sometimes the problem isn’t cheating.
Sometimes it’s the little things people hide that make your imagination do the rest.
