Skittles Kashrut Alert

At this point, some Skittles are certified kosher pareve even when not bearing the OU symbol - others are not.

To determine if you have a certified product, please look at the ink-jetted codes printed on the package.

1. If the production code contains "YRV" in it, or it

2. Contains "WAC" and has a best-buy date of June 2026 or later

then those products are certified kosher by the Orthodox Union.

Eventually, the OU symbol will appear on the packaging.

👉Here's what you need to know before you go out looking for these tiny tasty treats: This applies to both Skittles Littles bags and tubes. No special code or date needs to appear on the packaging. There will soon be an OU symbol on the packaging, but they are acceptable as of now.🙌

IMPORTANT: this only applies to:

1) Skittles *Littles* Original.
2) When it’s a product of the USA.

Kosher Alert: Jelly Belly - Issue: Jelly Belly has informed the Orthodox Union that, due to changes in one of their factories, Jelly Belly products produced in that location will soon no longer be kosher. There is no change in the Jelly Belly formulation, but because of production changes, other non-kosher products will be produced on shared equipment.

As a result, all Jelly Belly products sold outside of North America will soon appear in packaging without an OU symbol. Some limited production Jelly Belly items (mostly seasonal items) in North America will also lose their OU symbol.

All bulk Jelly Belly jelly beans sold in North America will continue to be produced under OU’s supervision, and most retail-sized varieties that North American consumers see in stores will remain certified, as well. Consumers are encouraged to check for the OU symbol on all Jelly Belly packaging before purchasing the products.
