“To bridge reputation-reality gaps, a company must either improve its ability to meet expectations or reduce expectations by promising less.” https://t.co/DKWaBkaBsL
@BobPickard I watched it when it first came out. I was still in the early days of my PR career. What struck me then was how news could be created just to be covered. It still rings true today: so much coverage exists simply to grab attention, only to sell that attention to someone else.
@SaroltaPR Seriousness is often about obsessing over trivial things, while ignoring what could actually make a real impact (which where the most fun stuff happens)
The classic software startup writes code to solve users' problems. If AI makes writing code more of a commodity, understanding users' problems will become the most important component of starting a startup. But it already is.
A small group of people stay glued to the news, despite the stress it brings. Yet, they're often the most informed among us. https://t.co/KyFOjPzGpS via @cbseveningnews

“Disinformation is false speech designed to deceive you. Misinformation is speech that is wrong. Disinformation is intentional; misinformation may not be.”

@BobPickard@odwyerpr What an amazing life! I didn't know about Richard Levick before, but this story is fascinating. It shows that his bravery in facing challenges and embracing change left a lasting impact on the industry and its people.
Misinformation: verifiably false information that is shared
without an intent to mislead.
Disinformation: verifiably false
information that is shared with an intent to deceive and mislead.
Malinformation: deliberately
misleads by twisting the meaning of truthful information.
@BobPickard It's also evident in the way people choose their news sources. In our region for instance, we see more people are ditching the usual ideological mainstream media outlets and watching satirical shows or explanatory channels on YouTube.
@BobPickard@Glassdoor It's pretty common here in Dubai, at least within my circles, to check Glassdoor before considering a job offer. Additionally, I advise my clients to have their communication plans include ways to improve their internal operations so that Glassdoor reviews are good.
