According to Melee's PMM litepaper, PMM addresses this by combining parimutuel settlement with dynamic pricing.

Each winning position records a minimum-return floor when it's opened (provided it's held until settlement).

Future trades must preserve that floor instead of diluting it.

That flaw is called late-capital dilution.
Imagine you bet early on the correct outcome.

Hours later, a flood of money enters the same winning side.

In a traditional parimutuel, your share of the payout shrinks even though your prediction never changed.

Early conviction gets diluted by later participants.
