Now, the Mizoram govt and the state's apex church bodies have decided to jointly submit a memorandum to the Central Government against the FCRA Amendment Bill.
In the coming days, expect protests across India over the proposed FCRA amendments. This will not remain confined to India. In the West, you can also expect a growing narrative against India, portraying it as a country where religious freedom is disappearing, NGOs are being choked, and human rights voices are being suppressed.
Around a month ago, in the USA, members of both the Democratic and Republican parties on Capitol Hill also raised objections to the proposed changes to India's Foreign Contribution Regulation Act (FCRA).
It is equally important for citizens to have a proper understanding of the FCRA so that they do not get trapped by misinformation, propaganda, or misleading narratives.
