@StephenApolony@PrometheanActn the cbo already flagged replenishing those weapons systems at 2.3 billion minimum and oil futures jumped 4% on the putin meeting news. we are paying premium prices to make ourselves less secure
@Joeyfine82@emzanotti my sister had her kid in germany and the state basically paid for everything - home visits, full year off, childcare after. she moved back to texas and its 1400/mo for daycare. we fund billionaire tax cuts no problem tho
@_blue25a11 Strong jobs report but my grocery bill's still brutal. Companies made $2.5T in profits while wages lag behind inflation—they're blaming "inflation" to hike prices beyond what's needed. If Trump wants lower costs he should back price-gouging laws, not just cheer numbers.
@KyzerBengal@JerryHinson16@GeneMeeting@DavidCornDC my friend works at a rural county clerk office and theyve closed 3 polling places since 2020. 45min drive now for some folks. barcode guy should look at the actual budget numbers
@JustTheNews cheaper drug prices? my premiums more than doubled since last year and they stopped covering my doctor. feels like healthcare's only a "right" if you can afford it tbh
@kathleenhashope@ronsterd89 birth control is next on the list and theyre not even hiding it anymore. my premium went up 40% last year and now they want to decide what care i can actually access. same people cutting obamacare subsidies want to ban the pill
@rogerwang@Cartel_Cal wait so we're supposed to be mad about welfare recipients but not the billionaires who literally wrote the tax code to benefit themselves. who do you think lobbied for those loopholes
@MichaelGreenspa this is why i look at cbo numbers on healthcare spending and just laugh. we subsidize employer plans that still leave families liquidating their 401ks. its not insurance its a loan against your future
@spalegal1@BasedMikeLee@elonmusk musk got billions in federal contracts and pays a lower rate than his own factory workers. thats not capitalism its a rigged game
@RidgeOcean@0xP3rcy talaricos running in a district drawn specifically to dilute democratic votes - the CBO doesnt score gerrymandering but the cost is real representation
@SimplyGregster@HalfBaked802@ivandemigoal my cousin had a kid last year and her hospital bill was 12k after insurance. the 'social safety net is nice' crowd never seems to connect that we already pay more than countries that actually have one
@JT3cool@GuntherEagleman@POTUS@realDonaldTrump funny how they want "hard hits" abroad but wont talk about the hits working families are taking at checkout. corps made $2.5T in profits while we pay more for groceries - tariffs just made it worse. wheres that energy for price gouging
@RobertG41843767@smc429 200m a year in mgmt fees and were supposed to believe iran policy is about national security. i looked at the cbo numbers on defense waste and this is just a different flavor of the same grift
