Il y a 107 ans débutait le Génocide Pontique. Présents depuis le VIIIe siècle av. J.-C. au sud de la Mer Noire, sur cette terre qui fut celle d'Homère, les Grecs du Pont ont vu leur destin basculer au début du XXe siècle.

Dès les années 1910, les autorités ottomanes les perçoivent comme un obstacle à leur projet de « turquisation ». Les quelque 700 000 Grecs qui vivent dans la région depuis des siècles commencent ainsi à être menacés. Entre 1916 et 1923, l'horreur se déchaîne : massacres, exécutions, et villages pillés puis réduits en cendres.

Des milliers de familles sont jetées sur les routes de l'exil, assassinées au bord des chemins ou condamnées à mourir d'épuisement. Ce nettoyage ethnique fera plus de 300 000 morts, emportés par la violence, la faim et le froid.

Un siècle plus tard, face au déni persistant de la Turquie d'aujourd'hui et à sa politique agressive qui continue de menacer Chypre et la stabilité de la région, se souvenir est notre devoir face à l’oubli.

In the official document which shows that the Greek state granted 6.5 million euros directly from citizens’ taxes as a subsidy to Chris Nolan’s production, we read that the film was originally titled "CHARLIE'S TALE" and not "ODYSSEY", a title it was later changed to. Additionally, the Greek Ministry of Culture classifies it as "Fiction".

Chris Nolan can cast a black Helen and Athena, a Mexican Eumaeus, a transgender Achilles or Elpenor, a Batman-like Agamemnon, space marines as the Laestrygonians, or a black rapper as a Greek poet. He can base the script on the worst possible translation, one that distorts the entire meaning of the Homeric poems, and even replace Argos the dog with a cat. But it will never be the Odyssey. It will be "Charlie's Tale".

Christopher Nolan disrespected the Greeks and we will never forget that.

Her beauty is stunning but her accent is almost impeccable.. I almost thought it was a voice-over!

The song is “Ti Einai Afto Pou to Lene Agapi” (“What Is This That They Call Love?”) in the 1957 film Boy on a Dolphin.

This was one of the first major Hollywood movies shot in Greece, on locations like the island of Hydra - one of my favorite destinations!

Η Κροατία εισέβαλε με ένα τραγούδι στον τελικό του Διαγωνισμού Τραγουδιού της Eurovision, στο οποίο αποτυπώνεται η οθωμανική σκλαβιά και η παράδοση των χριστιανικών τατουάζ για την προστασία νεαρών κοριτσιών από τους Μουσουλμάνους.

Το τραγούδι στα Κροατικά καταδικάζει την αιώνια ισλαμική τουρκική κατοχή κροατικών εδαφών και θυμίζει την παλιά κροατική παράδοση να χαράσσουν χριστιανικά μοτίβα ως τατουάζ στο σώμα των κοριτσιών, για να αποτρέψουν την απαγωγή τους, τον βίαιο εξισλαμισμό και την σεξουαλική δουλεία.

Το τραγούδι, στο οποίο αναφέρεται ότι «πολλές διάλεξαν τον τάφο, επειδή οι μητέρες μας δεν γέννησαν σκλάβες», έγινε δεκτό με χειροκροτήματα ως πράξη πολιτιστικής τόλμης σε μια εποχή της αυτοκτονικής πίεσης της πολιτικής ορθότητας και της αυτοκτονικής ανοχής.

Η Τουρκία έχει ήδη υποβάλει επίσημες καταγγελίες κατά των ερμηνευτριών…
