In general there are many ways in which we can benefit sentient beings, but the Buddhas who have spent aeons examining the best way to help others say that developing bodhichitta is the supreme method. Why is this?
When you have a peaceful and tamed mind, life is more pleasant for your friends, spouse, parents, children, and acquaintances; your home is quiet, and all who live there enjoy an excellent sense of relaxation. Upon entering your house, others feel a sense of happiness.
However, we will not be able to attain this fully awakened state if we do not first develop bodhichitta, the mind of enlightenment. ~ Geshe Kelsang Gyatso
"And the dandelion does not stop growing, because it is told it is a weed. The dandelion does not care what others see. It says, 'One day, they’ll be making wishes upon me.'" ~B. Atkinson⠀
We should know that ignorance is our normal situation. All our suffering and problems come from our ignorance, and because of ignorance we have experienced suffering and problems in life after life, since beginningless time until this life. ~ Geshe Kelsang Gyatso
