One must be literate to improve health literacy. Libraries have a great impact on improving one’s literacy. The Build America’s Libraries Act supports the improvement of libraries. There are those in congress who support and oppose this bill. #nurs638policy
I found the book "Getting Wrecked" by @DrKimSue the most eye-opening of the semester. It focused on substance abuse in women. It highlighted history, trends, and society's failures to support these women. #nurs638policy
I enjoyed reading the ethics case about health justice after incarceration. Using a case, commentary and presenting best practices helped me become more knowledgeable as a future NP. Correctional to community based care has a long way to go! Thank you @pugleesa #nurs638policy
I only saw the healthcare side of the opioid crisis before this book. Getting Wrecked open my eyes to the user and criminal justice viewpoint. The struggles of this epidemic touches many lives and this book captures those for the incarcerated women of MA @DrKimSue #nurs638policy
What I enjoyed most this semester was to visualize what we learned in civics class applied to the real world. How all the pieces weave an intricate web to affect the way we practice as healthcare providers. @Nurs621
Caring for the patient with dementia requires compassion, empathy, patience, and competency of the needs for this special population. Training in care delivery is key for nursing staff and patient safety! @ANANursingWorld@AmerGeriatrics#NURS638policy
Prescriptive copay coupons for expensive brand-name drugs have been shown to increase overall healthcare costs and deter patients from contributing out-of-pocket to their deductible, resulting in higher premiums #RegulateRXCoupons#NURS638Policy@Merck@AnthemBCBS
OSA under diagnosis is draining healthcare system. Why are we not screening the patients at risk such as patients with HTN? What can be done to improve OSA diagnosis among HTN patients?#AASMorg#American_Heart#nurs638policy

@GovMikeDeWine Addressing the digital divide has numerous benefits from economic growth to healthcare access for rural communities via telehealth. #nurs638policy
I appreciate twitter as an avenue to share information. The amount of scholarly information, depends on who you follow. At this point, I don’t have material for which I would like to tweet. So, for me, it will be a media which I’ll peruse from time to time. #dnptweets
Learning to influence will enhance my practice in a leadership domain which is my greatest opportunity for growth. The strategies presented are clear and I can easily incorporate them. For a successful DNP project, clear, measurable goals ensure success. #dnpbook#Vitalsmarts
@TiffanyLordRN What I enjoy most about your project, is that you are addressing the root of the burnout versus just giving strategies to nurses who are burnt out. But just in case, you have nurses who are burnt out, here are 5 ted talks that might help https://t.co/I8U8yAousY #dnpretweet
The core of my DNP project is improving nursing burnout, by improving a stressful and emotional component of care experienced every day in the work setting. The hope is that by minimizing the stress, staff can find joy in their work again and minimize their burnout.
