This was straight-up NOT part of the rules.
It was not written down on the market, it did not make sense - and most of all, Polymarket didn't even believe it themselves.
Why? Because if it was true, the market would have closed on May 31st. The market didn't close.
A short story from @base, grab your🍿:
Someone (0x2352a1Fc) found a bug in Kipseli propAMM quoting logic and managed to swap ~0.04 eth for ~$80k cbBTC and shortly returned for a 20% bounty.
Pure cinema.
I beg everyone in crypto to read this in full.
I expected this to be another case of social engineering, likely some recruiter/job offer shit.
I was very wrong.
And the depth of the operation and personas makes me think they already have multiple other teams on lock.
😳
@Tradermayne Did you know the sayings "long in the tooth" and "don't look a gift horse in the mouth" both originate from the fact that horse's teeth grow longer as they age
the system broke today
Coinglass: $19B liquidated
reality: $35-50B+ (from my sources)
this isn't a conspiracy - it's infrastructure failure
Bybit's CEO told us months ago: liquidation data has API rate limits. exchanges can only push so much data per second. when liquidations cascade this hard, the tracking systems just can't keep up.
1.5 million people didn't just "get liquidated" - they lost their life savings. and I'm not being dramatic. actual families, actual retirements, actual futures. gone.
one dad in my DMs lost $90k. his entire savings. was going to buy a house next month. now he's explaining to his wife why they're broke.
a 24-year-old lost $10k. money his grandparents left him. gone in 2 hours.
even whales I know personally got destroyed. people with YEARS of experience. millions in capital. wiped out. because the entire system was overleveraged and nobody knew how bad it really was.
Trump tweets. $BTC crashes 15%. $50B in real money disappears so fast the data feeds can't even capture it all.
the APIs were designed for normal market conditions. not for 1.5 million traders liquidations in 4 hours.
so now you're looking at $19B on your screen thinking "okay, bad but survivable" while the actual damage is 3x worse and spreading through real families right now.
if you survived today, you got lucky. if you didn't, comment below. let's at least count ourselves since the system can't.
