Hogwarts and all Homeschool

I’m a homeschooling mom to two boys aged 10 and 8. Passionate about sharing our journey and experiences and learning about how others homeschool too.

@typeform I have been trying to log in to my account since yesterday and keep getting a 500 error. I see your admin panel was down yesterday, still having problems today 😳

When my kids ask for extra iPad time, they have to earn it by doing something. This is my son drying up to earn an extra 30 minutes of iPad time.

Do you give to your kids willingly or make them earn it?

Happy Valentine's Day!
I thought I would share a cute picture of my son with his beloved Pet hamster. 😊

Hope your day is full of love and laughter!

Signs of Spring!

I love it. Spring is right around the corner. I personally can't wait for the weather to warm up a little and for the flowers to start to blossom 🌹

You just can't beat countryside walks. 😊

It's been a week off for the boys this week. We do 4 weeks on and one week off. How do you organise your homeschooling schedule?

I would love to know! 😉

We created story stones which were supposed to be inspired by the rainforest which is what we are currently learning about but I swear I see Venom in there somewhere 😂

They love these swings. The park isn't really the place they have fun anymore, as they grow older. But they still love this and it makes me so happy to see them having so much fun 💖

Drawing the layers of the rainforest 😊

Have you learned about the Rainforest before? We start some home ed sessions soon at the Jungle Hut learning about rainforest conservation. Can't wait 😊

One of the best things about living in Birmingham is being able to teach the boys all about the history of the Spitfire which is so relevant at the moment as we learn about WW1.

Making Chinese Lanterns to celebrate Chinese New Year. I love themed work, do you? Are you learning about Chinese New Year?

I think we should order in, as part of the learning, you know 😉

The boys loved having a go at programming this robot at the Thinktank museum last week.

When and where was your last educational day out?

I have some great ideas on my website if you're stuck, just follow the link in the bio 😊

Playing junior Scrabble in the library 😊

Sometimes a change of scenery, particularly somewhere quiet, makes all the difference.

Last week was World Puzzle Day and the boys spent a good few hours putting this together.

This is a great website for awareness days, take a look: https://t.co/VsF25zYzbN

So yesterday my very first organised home Ed day went ahead and it was great!

20 children enjoyed the Lego Wedo workshop, learning to code Lego. A great experience! 😊

This really makes you think, doesn't it? I watched a documentary the other day about gangsters admitting to killing opposing gangs for no reason.

I wonder how they might have faired fighting in the trenches on no-man's land?

What better place to draw than in an art gallery!

Do you spend much time visiting museums and galleries? Most are free and there's usually some sort of activity available for the kids. 😊

Currently working on materials in Science. This is us doing an absorbency experiment.

Do you do science experiments or don't you know where to start?
