PI2 Network developed by @rv_inc is one of the most ambitious initiatives in the cryptographic world, combining proof generators with ZK technology.
First to be deployed on #MultiversX, PI2 stands as a universal truth framework encompassing everything that can be expressed as a mathematical statement that admits a proof in a mathematical theory.
More specifically, the execution of a program, a particular work that has been done or an action that has been performed, the formal correctness or the security of some code. A few more practical examples include:
1 - Formal verification claims, correctness claims, security audits, as well as other program analysis claims, become checkable certificates (instead of PDFs). So users don't have to trust the developers of the smart contracts, or the auditors of those smart contracts, or anyone else! They can simply check the claim certificate.
2 - Critical procedures or devices in hospitals, aviation, automotive, robotics, etc, yield checkable certificates for their correct application. This will increase our confidence in complex systems, in complex processes, in machines, even in AI, because we don’t have to trust them, we check their claim certificates.
3 - Verifiable Computing would now work for all programming languages. Basically, developers can execute their code securely in untrusted environments, say in the cloud, get back a proof certificate, verify it and acknowledge that their computation was correct.
4 - Zero Knowledge capability available for all languages, correct by construction.
5 - Deepfakes and fake news filtering, as well as storing scientific knowledge on-chain to be made immediately available to everyone and any application.
For those not familiar with the exceptional @rv_inc team, they had and continue to have an important role in making MultiversX one of the safest chains out there with contributions to the network, VM, ESDT token standard and major protocols.
They are also known for being the first to formalize the ERC20 token standard; the first to formally verify and audit Uniswap; the first to formalize and verify Ethereum's proof of stake protocol and the Ethereum 2.0 deposit contract.

Sovereign Shard development came from the necessity of current and upcoming projects on @MultiversX
Right now, there are 3 different types of groups closely watching sovereign shards, some of them already started getting used to the SDK. New #DeFi primitives which requires specific processing (for ex. perpetuals), games which want to decentralise the validation of state changes and introduce all operations as TXs in an open public ledges, and institutional players who want privacy for their chain, while still being seamlessly connected to the mainchain.
While researching and developing it, it strikes me how much far ahead the technology can reach, and it is hard to understand the limited capabilities of "L2s" or "app-specific chains" currently are. And it is clear that projects use the shortcuts of deploying existing tech, not really entering the deep parts of the code and architecture to make it better. Everyone wants to launch fast, just too fast. The slogan from US of launch fast and break things does not really work on crypto, as these are critical systems handling funds.
So we introduced the bridging process inside the validator processing stack and enshrined a set of operations to make sovereign shards to work as JUST ANOTHER SHARD. (which can have any custom setup). Truly the first of its kind in the #blockchain space. It is true, that we had to research and develop cross-chain tx processing, $ESDT token standard, components, modules, interfaces, factories and more. We are building on a top of a great technological stack. If some of the components did not exist, sovereign shard would most probably fall into the level of current app-chains.
We have broken out from the "chains" of EVM compatibility and Ethereum early on, from the first research papers. And this was one of the best decisions, as we are free to develop better products.
After all the early innovation, new modules can be added in an easier way, all those lego pieces just fit together. And sovereign shards is a game changer.
Lately we have been working on the specifications for the so called bridge SCs, and processes between chains. It is great that we can create super safe mechanism, which are actually super fast as well and are super secure for the user. The results: same ESDT token identifier across all the shards, tokens are returned back to the user directly if the SC execution after the bridging fails, by design. Execution after bridging happens in the name of the user. And not only fungible ESDTs, but all the token types, with all the attributes. Thus NFTs, SFTs, metaESDTs. You can actually bridge full farm positions, or composed NFTs.
This also means complete SC to SC execution supported between mainchain and sovereign chains, increasing the composability.
The customisability of the bridgeSC will enable projects to add new hooks, new modules dynamically, but only if all the validators will sign it. Modules like: whitelist/blacklist tokens, complex fee market (fee per token, addresses which do not pay for fee), whitelist/blacklist addresses or actions, max gas limit for execution.
Full details will come on agora in the next few days.
Next, we will tackle in-depth economics designs of Sovereign Shards as well, to show out a few models we think are suitable. But all projects can design their own.
