MINISTER ABDUL AKBAR MUHAMMAD: A Faithful Companion and A Life of Service
“And speak not of those who are slain in Allah’s way as dead. Nay they are alive, but you perceive not.”— Holy Qur’an 2:154
The world lost a giant among giants with the passing of Minister Abdul Akbar Muhammad, the International Representative of the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan and the Nation of Islam.
“A great tree has fallen,” as the African proverb says, with the passing of the man who gave more than six decades of dedicated service to the struggle and rise of his people. Minister Akbar, affectionately known as “Brother Akbar,” passed away on March 17 after a lengthy illness. He was 83-years-old.
“We belong to Allah and to Him we shall return,” reads a verse from Surah (chapter) 2, Ayat (verse) 156 from the Holy Qur’an in his family’s statement announcing his passing. “With deep gratitude for a life of service, the family of Minister Abdul Akbar Muhammad announces his peaceful transition,” the family statement further read.
For those who knew him, a “life of service” describes Bro. Akbar, the Muslim minister, husband, father, a brother’s brother, soldier, chief and servant. He was a faithful helper to Minister Farrakhan in sharing the Teachings of the Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad in the U.S. and abroad.
As the International Representative of the Nation of Islam, his work as a helper to his brother, companion and friend, the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan, carried him to over 180 nations and many walks of life, meeting heads of state, prime ministers, and dignitaries worldwide.

St. Louis reflects on the impact of Minister Abdul Akbar Muhammad: Historian, diplomat and international ambassador
ST. LOUIS—During the summer of 1975, the city welcomed “a special friend,” Minister Abdul Akbar Muhammad, then known as Brother Karriem Abdel Aziz, who arrived to head the Nation of Islam’s Temple No. 28. It was shortly after the departure of the Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad and a time of transition of the Nation that was now led by His son, Imam Warith Deen Muhammad.
However, between the autumn of 1977 and the spring of 1978, Bro. Akbar began working with the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan, who had vowed to rebuild the Nation of Islam.
Min. Akbar would go on to travel to more than 180 countries as the International Representative of Minister Farrakhan and the Nation of Islam, meeting with presidents, kings and heads of state.
Yet those who knew him best say his lasting impact was not measured in diplomatic halls or foreign capitals. It was measured in the lives he changed, one by one, in St. Louis.

Thursday, March 19th is the last day of the prescribed fast of the Holy Month of Ramadan.
The end of the Holy Month of Ramadan is observed with communal prayer called the 'Festival of Renewal' or 'Festival of Breaking of the Fast' (Salat-ul-'Id-Al-Fitr).
'Id Al-Fitr Prayer should be observed Friday, March 20, 2026.
We observe 'Id Al-Fitr prayer in congregational communal prayer to celebrate this sacred occasion of completion of The Fast of The Holy Month of Ramadan.
The Honorable Elijah Muhammad writes, "...Gathering of all people living in the same vicinity five times daily in the Mosque, is a help to the establishment of healthy social relations. In the daily service these relations are limited to a narrow circle, i.e., to members of the same neighborhood. But the circle becomes wider in the weekly Friday service which gathers together all Muslim members of a particular locality and become still wider, in the two great "Id" gatherings. Thus, prayer promotes social relations between the different sections of the Muslim community. Far more important that this, however, is the leveling of social differences brought about by means of congregational prayer. Once within the doors of the Mosque, every Muslim feels himself in an atmosphere of equality and love."
~The Honorable Elijah Muhammad, Message to the Blackman, pg. 138
Let us make every effort to participate in 'Id prayers to give thanks and gratitude to Allah for having Granted us His many Blessings!

Every 10.Knowledge Cipher day, I think of the wisdom of Brother Allah (C13X): First get the Knowledge of Self, then knowledge of the cipher, how the cipher is made, what you want from the cipher and how to get it. Then come out the cipher the same. Peace.
