Tonight in Kasese, we hosted the inaugural Uganda Cultural Night, bringing together runners and guests ahead of the 5th edition of the #TuskerLiteRwenzoriMarathon.
With over 40 countries represented at this year’s marathon, the evening was a celebration of Uganda’s rich culture, music, dance and heritage, while also recognising the different nations that have made the journey to Uganda for the race.
Beyond the kilometres that will be covered on the road, moments like these depict the power of sports tourism to bring people and cultures together, while giving our international visitors a deeper experience of the Pearl of Africa.

Good to see someone in the BBC newsroom finally talked sense into whoever was scripting those bulletins earlier today.
Linking Ebola to Uganda the way they did was reckless.
And lumping us together with the DRC was plain stupid.
With deep sorrow, we join the nation in mourning Gen. Moses Ali, a dedicated conservationist whose legacy and service to Uganda’s wildlife will never be forgotten. May his soul rest in eternal peace.
UWA to open a regional zoo in Eastern Uganda (UWEC–Mbale Zoo)
UWA has begun relocating wildlife to Uganda’s first regional satellite zoo in Mbale. So far, lions, a zebra, a waterbuck, an ostrich, and peacocks are thriving in their new home.
The project will bring wildlife conservation and education closer to communities across Eastern Uganda.
Looking forward to the official opening on 12th June 2026.
Keep lockedon for more updates

Today, UWA had the privilege of hosting the British High Commissioner at the breathtaking Mt. Elgon Conservation Area, the majestic Mountain of Masaba, for an unforgettable nature walk along the iconic Sasa Trail.
From the roaring beauty of Chebonet Falls to the rich biodiversity that thrives across this spectacular landscape, the experience showcased the very best of Uganda’s natural heritage.
Expertly guided by our concessionaire John Hunwick, alongside the dedicated UWA team led by Tourism and Hospitality Officer David Okiring, the hike offered meaningful insights into conservation, eco-tourism, and the vital role of protecting nature for future generations.
Moments like these remind the world why Uganda is truly the Pearl of Africa, where adventure meets unmatched beauty, warm hospitality, and unforgettable experiences.

Early in 2025, many wondered whether the disruptions in funding would push the AIDS response off course.
But at the end of the year, after meeting leaders, communities, parliamentarians, activists, and partners across continents, I can tell you that a path to #endAIDS as a public health threat remains open – if we protect what we know works.
A multisectoral response, led by communities, focused on human rights, spurred by innovation, and underpinned by rigorous data and targets.
That was my message to the @UNAIDS Board as this year came to an end. And it will continue to guide our work as we enter the new year.
I want to thank every partner who stood with us in 2025:
- the communities who refused to be silenced;
- the governments who upheld solidarity;
- the civil society activists who fought with courage;
- the UN colleagues who worked tirelessly, even as their jobs came to an end;
- and the donors and multilateral partners who remained committed during a turbulent year.
As I look ahead, to the coming year, I carry with me the energy of the @ICWEastAfrica sisters who said, in the face of funding cuts, “We will not only live—we will thrive.”
It is that spirit of hope that can guide the HIV response to a safe landing. I know we can get there together.
With solidarity and hope.

Kiziru & Mivo villages on Lake Victoria are booming, but urgent challenges remain: water scarcity, rising population, and open defecation. It’s time to turn challenges into change—health, hope, and cleaner futures start now! #CommunityHealth#Mukono#LakeVictoria#Sanitation
Met with community health workers recently and most are optimistic about the new Community Health Extension Workers (CHEWs)
They believe these are educated and will be approachable in strengthening community health services and improve access to care. #CHEWs#CommunityHealth

There was a time when men filled these clubs chasing the rhythm, the lights, and the illusion of pleasure.
But that time is gone.
Now, the dance floors are crowded with women asking,
“Where are the men?”
And I’ll tell you where they are:
They have walked away from the noise.
They have chosen silence over chaos.
They have chosen mission over distraction and purpose over pleasure.
The men are beginning to understand that a man who has found his value no longer trades it for temporary attention with hoodrats.
Men are walking away, not because they are broke but because they are bored with the emptiness of it all.
They are detaching from spaces that used to promote masculine cohesion but which have now been polluted by femicentric ideals.
In this femicentric chaos,
The drinks are overpriced, the laughter is fake, the women are hoodrats, and the smiles are bait to ensnare vulnerable men into chaotic, toxic, lifelong relationships conceived in the darkness of night parties.
It will surprise you that the men who regularly visit these parties are "married men" trapped in harmful marriages and are seeking an escape from the pain of regret.
But a MAN who has his energy figured out, his mission aligned, and his vision clarified will never choose to dance with hoodrats.
He has chosen to dance with discipline, not chaos.

Thirty Kenyan coastal tour operators, hoteliers, and influencers have been flagged off by H.E. Paul Mukumbya, Uganda’s Consul General in Mombasa, for a 7-day familiarization trip across Uganda.
The visit follows the 4th Uganda–Kenya Coastal Tourism Conference held in Malindi last month and aims to deepen regional collaboration by showcasing Uganda’s diverse attractions.
This initiative underscores the spirit of borderless travel and the power of regional complementarity in positioning East Africa as a unified, competitive, and world-class tourism destination.
