What a moment! A #WhiteTailedEagle is born in England – the 1st for over 240 years! It hatched earlier this summer & has now fledged. It's the first breeding success of the birds released by @ForestryEngland & @RoyDennisWF in a landmark project to return this iconic species.
One of our 2 year old Ospreys from our 2021 translocation has been seen. Female 372 was spotted on a nest cam, not here in Poole Harbour but yep….you’ve guessed it…Wales!! At 11:30am she touched down briefly on the Llyn Clywedog nest. Thanks John Williams for info @timmackrill

Great to watch G274 fishing in the Solent last week. In 2022, 50% of his diet has been made up of fish and cuttlefish. This has become an increasingly important resource for him and his partner G324 as they approach breeding age. @RoyDennisWF@ForestryEngland
I was really fortunate to enjoy some close views of the Isle of Wight’s resident pair of White-tailed Eagles, G274 and G324, this week. Now in their 4cy the two birds are looking more like adults with yellow bills. The larger female is perched above in the video. @SeaEagleEngland
All of my current CJ7 and 022 Osprey prints have now sold, raising £220 for @harbourbirds so far!!
I’m very happy to do another run of prints so if anyone is still interested, please let me know. Prints are £20, with £10 from each sale donated to Birds of Poole Harbour 🦅
Good News! It’s looking like another 2 #WhiteTailedEagles released by the project are forming a pair. Male G471 & female G405, released in 2020, have been spending a lot of time together in West Sussex. If this continues they will be the 2nd pair to form so far. @RoyDennisWF
The first chick for Z2/"Aeron" and Blue 014 hatched on the Pont Croesor nest overnight.
We do not know how many eggs were laid in the nest, so we will now have to wait until the chicks heads appear above the rim of the nest in a couple of weeks time.
A very memorable day - the first time an Osprey chick has hatched in a nest on the South Coast of England for more than two centuries. A real privilege to be involved in this project, and even better that the first female to breed is one from Rutland Water.
THE 1ST OSPREY EGG HAS HATCHED!! Amazing to see CJ7 moving this half-egg shell around the nest, confirming what we'd all been hoping! All eyes now on the next feed to see whether they offer any tiny pieces of fish down into the egg cup... @timmackrill@RoyDennisWF@ChrisGPackham
