#NESOutageAlert January 25 10:30am
The combination of freezing rain and ice has impacted the NES service territory overnight, with trees being weighed down by ice causing them to snap and take down power lines.
Right now, nearly 200,000 customers are currently without power, and at least 7 broken poles have been reported across our service area thus far.
Our teams are fully staffed and already in the field assessing damage and beginning repairs, and contract crews have been called in to assist. Since yesterday, crews have been operating in continuous rotations, and they will remain on extended 14–16‑hour shifts to ensure we can continue responding to outages quickly.
This will be a longer outage which could span over days or longer. We have additional resources through mutual aid and supplemental crews on their way. As of 7 a.m. this morning we have 120 NES lineworkers, and 40 contracted lineworkers. This evening we will have 80 lineworkers mobilizing to Nashville and another 75 planned to arrive at 7 a.m. tomorrow.
Along with city officials, NES is asking for the community’s help. If your power is out, do not call 911. We need to keep those lines open for emergencies. But if you see a downed power line, that is an emergency, so that is when it is appropriate to call 911. We ask that everyone stay away from downed power lines, and to always assume they are live and dangerous.
How to Stay Updated
● Report outages through the NES outage map, by texting OUT to 637797 (NESPWR) from the phone number linked to your account, or by calling (615) 234‑0000.
● NES will share restoration information on X (formerly Twitter) and Facebook throughout the event.

A few thoughts on the selective release of the Covenant School shooter's writings:
To be clear, because the trolls are seriously misconstruing this issue, @NC5 has previously requested those documents, but those have NOT been provided to us.
That question is now tied up in court.
It is out of our hands.
You can draw conclusions based on three selectively released pages (and why someone would only release three), but those pages do NOT tell the whole story.
While some want to believe these pages are evidence of an anti-White hate crime (where a White person shot a Black man), I am told the writings are filled with all sorts of hate directed at people of various identities.
The Covenant families have their own legitimate reasons to want to minimize their pain, which is why they have not wanted any pages to be released.
Instead, as I feared, in our current political environment, the lack of transparency has only fueled conspiracy theories especially among those who desperately want to create their own narratives.
That, unfortunately, is where we find ourselves today.
(Given the coordinate attacks today from those with agendas, reposts are appreciated!)
@BourbonGhost Idk, I feel like part of growing up is learning not to throw things at people just because you didn’t get your way.
Toddlers throwing a tantrum? Sure.
Adults watching a sports game? Nah.
