i had 310k ppl watching my election coverage last night, doubling news networks online, my criticisms of dems campaign messaging seems to be correct. its the democrats at the top that don't listen to the concerns of their base, and handwave it away. republicans fear their base.
Let’s be clear—the logistics of mass deportation will mean concentration camps. There is no ethical way to deport people and it’s going to lead to a huge increase in racism and all the rest.
@AmyClukey I don’t bother with it. I give them lots of scaffolding assignments and tell them to do the work for themselves or don’t—it’s not my business (though I do add that karma and/or a lack of ability to think critically will “get them” one day). And then I grade more harshly now.
If ChatGPT actually starts to be a problem in academia, I could see going back to in-class hard copy essays. For the love of God, you have been WARNED.
@johngreen I love your tweets like this but also am sad anyone would dare! If it makes you feel better, I just talked for 3 hours over the last two days about how your content goes against the evils of the internet and is one of the few anomalies in current day online discourse.
@johngreen Honestly, there is just something so intangibly beautiful about it. I think it’s the same thing that makes me want to cry at the end of many vlogbrothers videos? An earnest curiosity and fascination with the world.
Believe all women, at its core, really means believe all victims. Depp is clearly the victim here. Insisting on believing Heard at THIS point just because she is the woman is damaging to the #MeToo movement. #JusticeForJohnnyDepp@legalbytesmedia@TheEmilyDBaker
MeToo was a good thing and we needed a reckoning. “Believe All Women” is important because women are not believed when report assault and that’s fucked up. That is less true in a post-MeToo world, which is great. However, that doesn’t mean we are to believe women over EVIDENCE.
And after watching a lot of this trial, it is clear that Amber is lying. Any media outlet who says otherwise is not using logic, not watching the trial, or is paid off by her team. We believed her when her allegations came out and now we need to shift accordingly with evidence.
And I realize this isn’t some crazy idea but the passion that he had as he discussed this was really incredible to observe. There are still lots of passionate educators, even those who have been in their position for years.
“The university wants to treat you like a number and it is your job not to let them.” This is from a lecture I sat in on as a TA at UCSD with Professor Edmond Chang. On the foundation of modern education and a case for the liberal arts in education.
It just felt like such a fresh take on student ownership of their education, working towards learning over graduating, and was a beautiful new way of seeing the instructor and student relationship as one that stands against an education system bent more and more towards profit.
