Just listen to this video after weeks of ignoring it. I want taught much about business, even though my mum and dad owned two, school certainly didn't. After starting this business, my outlook has changed, and I really couldn't fault much of your analysis. Just wanted to say thanks for being so honest and pushing back on your analysis. Gary may have some good stuff, but it sounded like he had a real chip on his shoulder about rich people, even though he made his money in finance where (of I am honest) I feel wealth is speculated upon rather than created. He also was only able to make his wealth because of people who made wealth in forms of companies. I may be 40, but I am starting to make good money, which I couldn't have done as an employee or burying my head in the sand with all the new tech coming down the pipeline. If I can learn it, then I can teach my boys, because the school are certainly no good at teaching anything too useful for business. Thanks again.

Tell me you need a prepurchase vehicle inspection, without telling me you need a prepurchase inspection.... OK!

Just imagine, the wires rub through, creating a short, blowing the fuse protecting it. This is on a caravan, so you won't be at the dealer for another 200km so you accept the fault on the device that stopped working until you return.

Vehicles aren't a solid mass, everything moves which creates movement between parts. The screw rubs a small hole in the gas pipe, not enough to fail, but small enough to let out a tiny bit of gas.

When you return, you ask the dealer to look at some issues with the oven, and the electrical device. They turn on the gas, go in the caravan, put in a new fuse.... KABOOM!!!

OK, this might be unlikely, but technically possible. So let's remove the screw, repair the cables, and seal the floor, and we can all rest easy that our new home on wheels isn't going to suffer a rapid unscheduled disassembly.

Why is this car considered unsafe, even though everything looks OK?

Sometimes it's not enough to know the basics, sometimes you need to deeper knowledge of the Australian Design Rules to spot why a vehicle is considered unsafe.

In this case the tyres are OK, they have over the minimum tread depth, there is no damage, and they have not work un evenly.

Unfortunately, the car requires rated at 290kph, and the tyres on them are rated for 270kph. It's easy to miss, but in a serious accident, the inadequate tyre for the vehicle could be a contributing factor to the accident.

You may also find your insurance void as a result of the tyres that were fitted by a reputable dealer who installed the wrong tyres. You may end up having to sue the dealer to recoup your loss, and that's a headache I would rather avoid.

These tyres need replacing, you should be able to get the tyre fitting company to do it, but if not, you need to pay $1500 for a new set of boots for your car.

So when I'm asked if a prepurchase car inspection is worth it on a newish or low km car, my answer is yes, because this had several services since the tyres were fitted and no one noticed.

The BMW M4 had crazy mods and a great sounding exhaust. But the Ute was also quick, manual, fun to drive, can carry all my gear, and will only have one annoying noise coming from the front seat! (Sorry wife, I do love you, I meant the kids)

Would you tell a customer to buy this car? Would you buy this car if you knew this.....

A prepurchase car inspection is about telling the true story of a car and all the potential risks. It would be great if everything was a cheap fix, but you have to take into account that you are walking into a lengthy diagnostic process, and cost more to fix than a car without these issues.

This car also had several other fats too, including the front brake pipes so badly deteriated that the cracks in the pipe were almost through to the brake fluid. Even if the engine was a cheap fix, the other issues would have cost as much as the car.

Worst car so far: Great vehicle, with no engine light and full coolant overflow....

Except the engine light was disconnected and there was no coolant in the radiator, including a misfire and active codes for O2 sensor failure.

Very clean for age - It's had a hard life

Like new, low Km's - Repairable Write-Off

Shopping trolley dent repaired - Right fender, both doors, rear quarter panel, and boot lid repaired

Price flexible - Don't do a PPSR, we still owe money

Nothing wrong with it - I haven't looked, so it doesn't exist

Good tyres - they are black, round, and look good only on the outside
