Chatfield's Sam Backer finishes second in the state 100-meter dash (11.08). Winning time was 11.00.

Chatfield 4x100 boys relay team is second to Minneapolis North, which successfuly defends its title. Chatfield timed in a school record 42.92. Lourdes was fourth (43:32).

Holy smokes, Sam Backer! The Chatfield star track/football guy just willed his 4x200 relay team to the state title. An incredible final leg by him, catching and passing people until the Gophers were the winners. Amazing effort.
