Slowly realizing this is probably the most challenging year Iโve taught despite being under the impression that nothing could top last year. Trying to lift kids up from their crazy year last year plus push them through content plus dealing with my own mental health is. A lot. :)
Yesterday concluded the end of my 5th year teaching! This year taught me to be flexible, patient, and resilient. Despite the weirdness it was maybe my favorite year so far? ๐๐คท๐ปโโ๏ธ
Iโve read more books consistently than I have probably since I was in middle/high school. Becoming an English major turned ELA teacher made me think I had to read certain things but Iโve finally allowed myself to put down what I dislike and itโs so freeing! The canon blows
T-minus two days until the first standardized test my students will take for the year. Some of them will be coming on campus for the first time in a year. Some are excited and some are scared. What a crazy time ๐คท๐ปโโ๏ธ but theyโre awesome and will rock it!๐ค๐ผ
A year ago tomorrow, spring break started&then the world exploded. Itโs been almost a year of teaching in a pandemic and not gonna lie, Iโm really proud of how Iโve handled things. Change is one of my biggest fears and Iโve faced it head on! And Ive learned so much with my kids.
I had a rough day and my first in-school cry of the year. ๐คท๐ปโโ๏ธ Mid-class. But I checked my email and three students had messaged me to let me know I am appreciated and loved and now my heart is swollen
