On this day in 1948, the Health Secretary, Aneurin (Nye) Bevan, announced to Parliament the official launch date for the new NHS - 5 July.

This year we mark its 75th anniversary: https://t.co/8LKAKEL8mn #NHS75

[Antony Tiernan @AntonyTiernan]

Chuffed to announce that the NHS has teamed up with @parkrunUK to host ‘parkrun for the NHS’.

A great way to mark the NHS’s 75th anniversary + encourage people to be more active.

Save the date:

🌳 Sat 8 July
🌳 Sun 9 July
